If you have a straight through catless setup itāll āroarā no matter what.
but there is a clear difference between the 2.
start it up back to back with it on then with it off.
I have, the well tuned B58s also hold their own at that level. But by design, both motors have similar āsafeā limits. I actually had the opportunity to ask Mikey about this.
At the moment, itās a wash between the engines. At the highest levels theyāre very similar in output.
however, the B58...
both the B58 and S58 hit a reliability wall above 800whp without building.
reality is all 5 of the fastest modern BMWs are B58 powered.
for the downpipe and tune bros the S58 is way better though.
If your plan is to turn it into a track car the Supra will roast the M2 in results, reliability and maintenance cost.
If you just want to enjoy weekend drives in a near stock car. Most people would prefer the M2, I donāt, but my car is far from stock.
SavageGeese has been an MKV hater since day 1.
That being said M2 comp is one of the all time great driver's cars in it's category. Still prefer the MKV though. Especially the 23 MT
during break-in. How was your car in first gear from a stop?
mine stutters before release almost every time. Iāve had 5 drivers in it with twin disc clutch experience. None of them could get it going smoothly.
It came with an aluminum flywheel, Pedal feel started out stiff but was progressive and predictable. Friction point is high. Effort is approx 2 x stock clutch effort so far but it's getting lighter.
TBH shifting feels better with crisp engagement and no CDV nonsense, Downshifts grab instantly...
Everyone I know of who bought a single disk clutch upgrade for this car was unhappy with the weight and feel.
I have the FX1000, still in the break in process. First 100 miles was stiff, but now it's starting to feel really nice. Can definitely live with it. Engagement point is a little high...
Go for more man! CES is a great shop to take it to the next level. I have DI fueling done and a remnant kit.
Good to hear that 300 miles was enough! CM told me 500 minimum.
