So the only thing that annoys me about Nitro Yellow is the dang red in the headlight housings...the McDonald's motif kills me every time.

I never got that vibe from the housing tbh.. it’s pretty dark. you could do what another member did and wrap the top part in black. I’ve removed corporate branding power from my brain also

The red bits are so tiny, I doubt hardly anyone notices. In fact I pointed them out to another Yellow owner and he had never noticed!

Yeah I think I have OCD or something, haha. I didn't notice it until I was cleaning the car one day. I just feel like it's such a odd detail. Regardless, I get so many compliments for the color

I know the feeling... but things like color-coordinating those accents with the body color would introduce a litany of issues I'm happy not to deal with.

Can you imagine how many times people needing a replacement would hear "well, we got your headlight... but it's for the refraction blue models... call us again in another 8 weeks." Just having different oil and filters from the Toyota standard fare seems to cause some dealers to faint.

I felt the same way about the engine cover... and I got touch up paint to make the stripes yellow. However, I have to be honest - the paint arrived two years ago, and I've still not done it (and that's a 10 minute job). I can't even imagine taking all the time to do the same with the headlights, even if I still have the car after I'm retired. At the very least I'll wait until I get the brakes PCd to match before I'll worry about the much more subtle red accents.

Maybe @SD_MK can add those services to the badge replacements and suspension swaps he does in his driveway... :D

Squint as hard as possible, not even noticeable. 😎

I think a more neutral color would work perfectly fine (i.e. black or grey). I think Subaru does a decent job coordinating colors / accents for their performance models.
