  1. solutions for oil temp on track

Word of mouth from a friend that just got their fuel system and has been having issues with it. So you knowā€¦ take it for what you will. I havenā€™t heard anything official.
  2. solutions for oil temp on track

Doteki is the only one that does it right now as far as I know, but I also think they're going out of business, so if you get something from them that doesn't work right, good luck. Also, watching that vid again, it didn't look like I really got any power cut though my oil was over 300F at...
  3. solutions for oil temp on track

I need to go check the same logs from the pre-vent data I posted up there, because my IATs were under 140F and I want to say I still got power cut. But again, need to go look. Here's the vid from that pre-vent data in case anyone's interested. Now that I'm looking back at it, it's worth noting...
  4. solutions for oil temp on track

Hey there, welcome to the high-temp shitshow these cars are! I feel your pain and have been fighting this since I got the car. I've hit 300*F oil temps and power cut I think every track day, even in 70*F weather, literally until I put a big hood vent in this past week. My IATs would regularly...

The vent works! I got to do a couple of afternoon sessions at a track event today, it was just over 80 degrees out. Today is the first time since owning the car that I could do a full session without any power cut or oil hitting 300F, both of which would 100% have happened before the vent. It's...

We did it! Headed to the track tomorrow afternoon to get some data. Sure hope I see some improvement šŸ˜…

Issa hole. Going to take a sander/grinder to the exposed edges to clean them up a bit, then planning to get the vent set on tomorrow night so that I can try and get some track time in on Saturday. It won't be hot hot out, but it'll be over 80*, and that's plenty hot to get some data on this thing.

Been doing lots of measuring! Ripped off first sketch and this one is much better. 18.5ā€ from the tip of the hood is the bottom cut line based on the GT4, so Iā€™m told. All measurements are checking out but Iā€™m going to sleep on it and measure again before cutting. I feel a lot better about it...

Sweet. That was my initial thought, but now what Iā€™m wondering about is the adhesive. This vent goes on with tape and adhesive promoter. Iā€™m thinking it might be unwise to try to put that to the PPF instead of direct to the paint.

I just had a thought. I have PPF on the hood. So uhā€¦ wonder how I should handle that?

Aw yiss Plan to start measuring this weekend and getting it the template all set. Maybe cut next weekend depending on how I'm feeling

Yeah it's massive. Interesting to hear about it detaching for you, I'll have to keep an eye on it. Curious if anyone else has experienced the same?

Hey friends, looking for feedback on the Triple Seven GT4-style hood vent. I heard the plastic one can warp (though they'll replace it), so I bought the carbon, but looking to see if y'all have heard anyone say they love it or hate it after owning one, if you own one yourselves, etc. I know...

Well, adds to my suspicion of airflow being my main issue. I like the Nitrons, but I'm a noob with suspension so I can't speak to them much. I went with R1's. All I know is the car feels fantastic on the track. You can adjust the dampening for the street. For spring rates, I just have the...

Sorry, meant to respond sooner. No, my oil temps and IATs are stupid high at the track. Even in 70* ambient, after several laps my oil will still ping 300*F eventually. I have done everything I can to verify I don't have bubbles in my coolant circuits. Everything was vacuum-filled. I have...

Hey guys and gals, I'm back from Winter hiatus. I wanted your opinion. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about my heating issues, and I think a hood vent is needed. Any thoughts on: Cutting the hood and adding triple seven GT4-style vent and eventually fender vents VS: Getting a full...

There was a lot going on that day. I have an issue where the car rotates heavy to the right under braking, forcing lots of counter steer and input for me to keep it straight under braking. So yes, very unstable. I havenā€™t troubleshot it much yet but I have suspicions of something being loose...

Looks like fun! My man's also said "what track limits" hahah

This is why I really like one of North Texas' local tracks, Motorsport Ranch, Cresson. It's not the most exciting track, but it's got a little bit of everything and is very, very low risk in terms of damage occuring if you go off track. Really allows you to get comfortable with a car. If you...
