Why are we expecting a car priced similarly to a Golf R to be a Supra killer? It'll be a nice choice in the mid 40k range, and that's it. People will put in pre-orders for anything just to be among the first to own.
Nissan COO just indicated on Twitter base price around $40k USD. Hope that's true when official announcement happens tonight. Looking promising indeed.
Supra is still top of my list for my next car. When that happens, I'll be trading in either the M3 or C63s for it. As always, the Cayman is fantastic but I don't feel the value is quite there for me personally.
Let's not get carried away. I have a buddy with an order for c8 z51 at MSRP. Stock for stock, the supra will not be the better drivers car. Of course the MKV will get far greater mod potential.
It's not the same car. By virtue of moving the engine mid-mounted, all driving dynamics have improved. The increased engine performance is just a bonus on top.
This is true in my personal experience. I used to be a respectful driver behind the wheel of the STi and Evo, but then when I brought on the M3...things changed....I changed....and it will never be the same.
I know it's the smallest thing, but I'm glad to see the U.S. spec version has the gas tank cap on the left side of the car. Was worried that being a BMW platform, it would have ended up on the right side :p.
