Fangirls and PR agents are working at full force, this botched project Supra should have been an in house design, power around 500-570hp starting at $80K with optional paddle shifters.
1) Thats cost cutting and lazy, the chief engineer is known for making vans, and he never made a sports car on his own, always asking by collaborations, worst is he is using the iconic Supra name on his project, Mr Akio is to blame for approving this mess.
2) So you agree its underpowered.
3)...
1 Cheap by putting a Supra name on BMW and lazy too, this project was based on cost cutting, They tweaked few things but they didn't build it.
2 That was in the 90s, The power figures got better with C6 then C7, The A90 power figures didn't change much from 25 years A80,
yeah it wasn't in...
Excitement level is 2 for three reasons:
1 Toyota took the cheap way out, they are milking the Supra name on a re bodied BMW.
2 Power figures similar to the 90s Corvette C5.
3 Automatic transmission.
My excitement is at 2.
The car is a year too late, I can imagine two scenarios, the first scenario were Toyota realised that this project is/ was a bad idea, and they trying to salvage what they can, the end result will be an ok car but nothing special, also I can see the PR boys being stressed...
