I believe that would be the case also but I question the rumor altogether. Magna Steyr currently builds the Mini Countryman and Paceman for BMW and the word is they've decided to move production of it to the Netherlands and have Magna build another model which everyone is assuming is the Z5. The...
Toyota stakes its name on reliability and dependability so I'd bet they've properly vetted Magna Steyr to produce the new Supra to a high level of quality. That, or they don't care about Supra reliability as much (hope not) since it'll be a low volume sports car.
Why not? They slap the M badge on everything these days.
Well Toyota has more at stake here given this is going to be their halo sports car so the risk of them nerfing this thing is probably low.
I was actually hoping it might be the M3/M4 engine ever since I had a chance to drive a buddy's M4. But on the bright side having a Toyota engine in a Supra could help the image of the car even more especially if it performs well. In any case, whatever engine the new Supra gets it'll have a...
Or really ANY prototypes. The only ones I'm aware of were the supposed mules wearing the old Supra body that everyone was guessing could be hiding the new platform underneath. Now that the BMW ones have been spotted maybe Toyota won't be shy letting the prototypes come out and play a little. You...
Wonder why so much time needed for the LC production to begin? They just debuted the production version so why would it need another 1-2 years to start production? Frustrating because it affects the Supra MKV timeline.
It'll need to be trimmed down tho it's still significantly bigger than a 911. Too big in fact.
And I'd be surprised if the next 6 series dropped 600 pounds. The new 7 series only dropped 200 with its semi-carbon fiber CLAR platform, which is the same platform that the next 6 series will be...
Correct me if I'm misremembering but wasn't there confirmation of some kind already that the car will get a BMW engine?
And I voted NO in poll, but not because of CAFE but because we know (I think) this car will get a BMW engine and the only V8 engine in BMW's lineup now which might be possible...
Sounds like the new S2000 is more likely to be the S660 roadster, which Honda USA is saying they're now considering bringing here.

The exclusive aspect alone will sell this car to some people. Is this a concept or special model with aero kit that we're looking at or is this the actual final production model and all Giulias will look like this?
The guys over there are guessing it's between 3 cars -- the M2, M4 GTS or a hopped up i8. I can't see that steering wheel going into an M2 or M4, so it may be an i8S or maybe just maybe a concept based on the BMW-Toyota platform (fingers crossed!)
