Talked to my dealer the other day when I took my tundra in for an oil change. He said each dealer is expected to get at least one and they had already decided that a $10,000
mark up would happen when it arrived... I said yeah good luck with that!
I've never believed that the Supra would have a full blown BMW motor laying under the hood. Hope there is some truth to this new "Toyota Iron block" rumor... WHEN THE HELL is the actual announcement with specs coming (rumors on that)?
If the iron block is true I'd imagine you'd see it thru...
Time will tell
Motor Authority:
"For the Supra, expect multiple powertrain options just like with past generations. The most potent is expected to be a hybrid setup leveraging technology used in Toyota's successful TS050 Hybrid LMP1 race car from the World Endurance Championship. It's possible...
Wasn't there talk at one point about high end models in hybrid form? Maybe they'll shock us all with an additional 100 HP and torque to the rear wheels with electric motor assist for a total of 485 HP. That would make a $60,000 price tag believable.
If it is a "Supra" I wouldn't put it past them to mount a large wing. Last Gen had a huge wing / whale tail or what ever you want to call it. Might be right on with the wing only coming on the high end model?
Exactly
Kia has a 365 Hp car for 38k...KIA! And Toyota is gonna bring the Supra their top of the line sports car with 380....If it had been 450+ Hp I was gonna look at one.
How the hell do you put a Bmw motor in your flagship car? It’s like ford saying we’ve decided to put a hellcat motor in...
I know half of the tail lights are covered up on the photo but it looks like a narrower updated version of the last gen possibly? Like they covered the other two bulbs?
I just have this feeling while they might share chasis, transmissions etc. That motor will be all Toyota! Just my feelings. A Toyota SUPRA with a BMW motor would be like Dodge saying the new Hell Cat is going to have an LS motor from GM LOL
I just don't see it.
I still have a hard time believing that Toyota would put a BMW motor in their flagship/iconic sports car. I would Imagine some BMW tech but expect the 3.5 toyota TT as the heart of the car
