How long was it from the FT86 II concept to production anyone remember? Just trying to gauge possibly when it may go into production if revealed at '15 Tokyo show

I think somewhere in some secret facility, there is a calendar with a big circle around October 29 to November 8, 2015 which is the date of the next Tokyo auto show.

They obviously know there is no tokyo show this year so you put out a juicy concept and let it marinate for 2 years until you show the production version at home in 2015.

There was a FT86 III concept even, but they called it the FR-S Concept. Just googled it and that was revealed in April 2011 and the FR-S production version debuted in Tokyo later that year in November 2011.

Hoping there's a chance that Toyota shows a FT-1 concept II or just jumps right to a Supra concept at TAS next month. It'll be here in under 3 weeks so we'll see soon i guess.

Technically they did show a second FT-1 concept? What I'd like to see is an official Supra concept based off of the actual platform to give us an idea of the real life dimensions, drivetrain and engine that we'll see in production.

Not sure if toyota will bring out anything new until late next year or early 2016. Maybe a real life GT car mentioned above. I think a lot is still being worked on behind the scenes and a realistic production ready of this car won't be until late 2016-2017, just my idea of it.

I'm sure we'll see another concept closer to production though before we see the final product.

IMO, this car is following the same path as the Lexus LF-LC. With the second concept only changing in color. As we all know Lexus has confirmed the LC for production and stating that 90% of the concept will carry over into the production car.

I think the Detroit Auto Show is more likely. This is the most important auto show IMO.

Isn't TAS like a SEMA show for mostly aftermarket? Probably not the type of show that they'd reveal an official revised concept.

What was that? Looks like something based off the 86 concept. So that was a tuned/modified version of a concept?

Yea what I meant was a redesigned concept, not just in another color. Something that gives us a better idea if they're sticking close to the current concept design or going another style direction.

Never heard of the Mark X before until now.

Hopefully Toyota shows some FT-1 there or we'll be waiting until late 2015 for another Japanese show :(
