Ok, I wasn't going to ask but fck it. With prices rumored to be somewhere near 60-80k, this thing has to be pretty well-engineered.

This question might be impossible to answer, but what is the drivetrain engineered to withstand in terms of horsepower? If people start turning up the boost and hitting 500HP, is this thing going to break or what's going to happen?

I still want to say, I'm surprised Jalopnik or any of those jouranlists isn't furiously typing away an article of 2019 Supra, what we know so far or any clickbaity tiel right now through this thread.

Just saying.

they usually just parrot what other outlets are saying and never try to get information for themselves.

So not you, but other sources.

They would take our renderings and credit us though, not make speculations. Okay, got worried for a sec that they'll quote you directly and big brother Akio comes to say hi

Yeah, wouldn't be a big deal if they quoted the site vs me, but I think most people probably just don't put stock in what I say. That's a good thing for me though because I don't have to be anywhere near as paranoid lol.

that said, I'm out now anyways, so I'll be forgotten by the time the car is released anyways.

Can't really say much, but Lexus is about to bring some heavy hitting stuff to market. It's not gonna be instantaneous though.

That said, they will work top to bottom most likely with the LS already being taken care of.
Highly boosted Twin Turbo V6's across the board on all "F" cars. I can't see Lexus being the last luxury automaker to be using big displacement V8's anymore.

But most of the review mags are listing the big NA v8 in the new LC500 as one of their favourite things about the car, especially compared to its immediate competitors.

A70TTR, I have a great question for you that's been causing me no end of annoyance at Toyota, though you might not be able to answer it.

Do you know why Turn 10 Studios, the makers of the famed Forza Motorsports series of video games was denied the Toyota license for their sports cars for Forza Motorsports 7? This is the very first Forza game to not feature them. There has been no official word from Toyota or Turn 10 as to why, but looking at the pattern of other games that did get the license, it appears it might have something to do with the fact that Forza allows users to modify the cars in games, engine swaps even, and Toyota is apparently part of a big group of manufacturers that have formed a group to start making it harder for people to tinker with cars as we move into the fully automated era.

Or, now that the race mk5 Supra has been revealed, and it was simultaneously announced that it would be available for download as DLC for Gran Turismo Sport, did Sony and Toyota make some backdoor exclusive deal for the new Supra that included the license to all the old sports cars for some reason (all the Toyota trucks and racing models are still in FM7)?

I can fully understand why you can't answer this question, but at least let me express my extreme displeasure with this move, and please forward this feedback to the right parties in HQ.

First off, if this is the backdoor deal scenario, they bet on the wrong horse. If Toyota had been paying attention, they would have noticed that Polyphony Digital and their Gran Turismo games have been utterly irrelevant, and playing 2nd fiddle to the Forza Motorsports franchise for a good 10+ years now. I am not a Microsoft fanboy, I played the first 4 Gran Tursimo games to death, if you don't believe that the ones after that fell by the wayside to Forza after that point, you've obviously never spent any serious time with a Forza game. That sad, Gran Tursimo Sport is a return to form, but it is still behind the curve ball, FM 7 is still the better game.

Second, regardless of the reason they made this decision, it was the wrong one. The hassles of licensing cars and the potential hang ups Toyota may or may not have about cars being modified in the future, are utterly insignificant to the brand exposure and free marketing these games provide. They literally expose a new generation of people and future customers to Toyota's products, to omit them from this market and exposure is... incredibly short sighted to put it nicely.

Anyways, I'm just another die hard Toyota enthusiast (I've owned 25 Toyotas over the years) and avid Forza Motorsports fan that is incredibly disappointed that I can find no joy in the latest Forza as all the cars I love are gone. I've gone back to playing FM6 now and probably will be till the next game comes out or they fix the licensing problem and release all of the cars as DLC (as they did for Porsche on FM6).

That's just a conspiracy theory. It's all about the $$$, that's all. Toyota couldn't give half a hoot if you were putting a VR38 and AWD in your Supra in video game land. If their market research says that their involvement in Forza isn't making them profit, then they won't make a license deal.

Now, you are right about Polyphony/Gran Turismo having some level of special treatment, as PD has worked closely with Toyota on a variety of projects over the years (Gran Turismo telemetry integration into the 86!!!). As such, I'm sure they have an agreement that is mutually beneficial enough that they'll let their cars be licensed.

Guff, as often the case, is correct in the entirety of what he said for reason as well as PD's involvement.

Turn 10 just didn't care much about adding Toyota to the game.

It's unofficial and has never been and likely will never be made public.

If you mean the Spa lap between the Z4 and Supra that is.

The latest gen Viper is definitely a thing of beauty as well as an absolute destroyer on the track. Why they don't outsell everything else in that class is a total mystery to me.
