Shocking news coming from Russia where transgender drivers have received a license ban.
According to Russia's latest driving restrictions, transgender people have a "medical condition" and as a consequence are no longer allowed to drive. People with "medical deviations" include those who are transvestites, asexual, bi-gender, transgender, cross dresser as well as those who want a sex reassignment.
Moreover, those with "mental disorders" such as exhibitionism, fetishism and voyeurism have also received a ban, as well as drivers who are shorter than 150cm (4 ft 11 inches). The list goes on with people that have been diagnosed with pathological gambling and compulsive stealing problems, as well as those with hereditary eye diseases, "mood" disorders, "neurotic, stress-related" problems and those suffering from schizophrenia.
The Russian government says the sole purpose of all these restrictions is to diminish the very high fatality rate as in 2012 almost 28,000 people were killed in car crashes, representing an average of 55 deaths per 100,000 cars.
