Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a sports car? lolAccountants/forecasters: zOMG, we need the 4cyl to appeal to green customers and those that want good mpg...
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing! This definitely contradicts bimmerpost's insider where they said there will be two 4 cyl and only one 6 cyl.now that this information has apparently been dispersed to marketing teams worldwide, some of the new info circulating is as follows (subject to change but unlikely):
SZ - 4cyl
SZ-R - 6cyl, 3070lbs
RZ - 6 cyl 3350lbs
starting price for SZ still appears to be $40,000USD
Damn bean counters always ruining everything for us. Besides, Toyota already has something for those type of people. Its called a Prius, aka tampon on wheels.I think the argument is something like this:
Accountants/forecasters: zOMG, we need the 4cyl to appeal to green customers and those that want good mpg...
The rest of Toyota: Dear God, no, I will do anything in my power to keep that and the Gazoo name off our shores.
SZ - 4cyl(718 hunter)
SZ-R - 6cyl, 3070lbs(Cayman S hunter)
RZ - 6 cyl 3350lbs(Cayman GT4 hunter)
Maybe thats the answer, Jeff... 4cyl, B58, and then the iron block motor in the RZMy guess, the SZ-R will be an N/A 6 or lower tuned aluminim block (or higher tuned 4) and the RZ will be an iron block turbo. Also add on extra safety features and so on for being the top model. (Bigger diff, other stuff) and you'll find your 300 lbs easily.

This is my general idea as well. I'll try to dig on this.My guess, the SZ-R will be an N/A 6 or lower tuned aluminim block (or higher tuned 4) and the RZ will be an iron block turbo.
