The Supra shifter is pushing forward to downshift and pulling to upshift (the correct way).. just like a sequential. works with the inertia of the car (decel = moving forward etc)
Wait, so the Supra won’t be using paddleshifters?

yes, forward to downshift and back to upshift is the way to go (Ryley was spot on)... I hate the ones that are the other way around.

Hmm What AM I driving?
trying to think which car has it the other way around..... At least we get a shifter I'd prolly go crazy if it was a stock like Benz products or it's just a button or rotary dial. Really not a fan of those.

You mean the shifter in the older Supras or A90? If it’s the latter, then it’s the same with BMW.

pretty sure it is more common that way...think every Japanese & American automaker does it that way whereas some of the Europeans do it the other way..

Thanks! I've never noticed because I always use the paddles. Now I questions about how it will feel naturally, starting to just wanna jump into I only wanna buy if it's manual camp lol

A Corolla XRS I drove had push forward for upshift, horrible pattern (well tbh the whole transmission was horrible).

I hate the fact that to down shift on BMW you have to push the gear selector forward unlike Toyota. I hope that don't make it to the supra. not a big fan of the behind the steering paddle shifter I drive with one hand 97% of the time no matter how fast am going.
If you drive really sporty through corners and narrow twisty roads or on the track you better use both hands. One hand driving is more of a lazy driving style.

I just hope those paddles are big enough.

Being early on the power out of a corner can be tricky if you miss the paddle.

I used to dive with one hand but when I joined the SCCA and started to track my 86 I will only drive with 2 hands on the wheel at 9/3. The control is noticeable and inspires confidence. Now I know why most other countries teach the 9/3 method.
