31 Here, engaged, 6 figure Salary. Just got word Im becoming partner at my company too starting January 2019, 3200sqft Home Mortgage, Retirement Accounts, Bills Etc all paid by my salary alone. 4 Total Cars (2 sports cars paid off). Both our DD's will be paid off over the next 12 months.

My fiance doesn't work at the moment but graduates in 6 months as an RN and will then take over half the bills. She is amazing and will be pulling in a good amount to help and pay me back for taking care of her through Nursing school. I have her approval of I can buy whatever I want when I am ready.

So I will be spending around 100-120k on my next sports car (being able to retain my MKIV TT 6 speed, my JDM 180sx, and my DD.) If its good ill be getting the Top GRMN model, Otherwise I am looking at Vipers (15+ ACR), R8s, GTR's, 911 Turbos, etc. I have friends with those and have driven all the options which I love. But I definitely want something different and rare. So here is to hoping the GRMN is limited production and super crazy looking.

The weird part to me is all 4 of our current cars are manual. A New Supra might be our first Auto lol
Since you revealed so much. What is your SSN? LOL!!! BTW, 6 figures ain't shit in Calif.

Unless I get a raise in the coming yesrs or win the lottery, no way i can afford this car..

I did just buy the 86 in 17 and will pay it off by 2020.

Most likely by 2024 I can have one as I become established in my career and have the funds available to rent and have a fun sports coupe with an 86 resting nearby.

fair point, *used GS-F

(lmao)
Hopefully the V35a (or atleast a version of it) makes it to IS soon to compete with the power train of the Q50 or G70/Stinger. Theres nothing wrong with the 2GR but it is holding the IS back in that segment

my other project may interest you, the lesser expensive one that is... I may speak more about it in due time.
while i want it to be something that pushes the 86 slightly upmarket , it probably is something close to supra class?

Just got that thing 3 months ago.. it sounds like a R1 up top. Handles and steers amazingly well.
Word on the street is that steering feel is similar to that of a GT3RS...

I'd bail on the Vette first, probably the fastest depreciation of the lot.

As for myself, I can afford it but not sure I want another car.

With the MKIV and the 997TT in the garage as well as my other projects there is NO space and I'm already looking at renting a building locally since my shop is maxed and I need more space to do fabrication, storage and more...

I sorta bought the 997 turbo since the MKV was/is looking like such a flop.

IMO the people who claim they'll buy the new supra on the internet will account for very little of the total sale. the car's probably gonna start off strong for a year or two like the 86 and slowly wane. it's a tough market segment supra is trying to compete in, way too many choices for a fast handling car in the 50K-65K range.

I am curious, with all the different opinions on the new A90 Supra, who here will be able to afford one and who is actually going to be buying one when they come out.

Iā€™ll start. I can afford one but I am not convinced yet that I will actually want one. It has a lot to live up to before iā€™ll consider it.
I can access a 21% discount for the New Toyota Supra when it comes out, I just have to wait an additional 4 months as they build it and ship it.

So if its sold at 100K AUD, I can get it for around 80K AUD drive away (they do some funky calculations on delivery and stamp duty over here).

At 80K AUD, its impractical for me... affordable? Well depends. Sure I can pay for it, as my wife and I have more than enough to buy it outright, but I would most likely use my personal separate savings to pay half of it and then finance the rest. I like having savings just in case of emergency.

I said impractical above because, its a 2-seater...
Sure I've got a Nismo 370Z now... but I got that for a 62K AUD drive minus my Toyota 86 trade in which I got 19K AUD for.... so around 43K AUD which I paid 15K AUD out of my savings. So 43K AUD for a beasty 2-seater is "practical" for me, since we still have our daily Subary Outback for needs and my MR2 GT is in the garage sitting pretty.

80K AUD for a 2-seater is something with really high disposable income to justify as a quick-decision buy, but for me I still have to think about it and make sacrifices... hence its impractical for my financial status.

I might as well look for a second hand Nissan GTR with relatively low mileage, as that car has 4 seats and can fit kids at the back lol. I've tagged a second hand Lexus RCF as a potential replacement for Nismo in a couple of years as well, atleast I can justify these cars for the 80-100K AUD range.

With that said, 2002-2007 Supra Twin Turbo over here can be had for around 30-50K AUD depending on mileage... a Nissan Skyline GTR R34 which I almost purchased 5 years ago and regrettably didnt... could be had for 70-100K AUD depending on mileage and its rising quick.

I truly wanted Toyota to price this at around 55-70K AUD, similar to 370Z but that looks unlikely....
