That Nearly Perfect 1994 Toyota Supra Sold For $80,500

kmphkoccxvsaxayv5moe.jpg

Last week, we discovered a shockingly pristine Toyota Supra Turbo on Bring A Trailer. Despite three owners, the car only had racked up 5,664 miles, was kept entirely stock, and had about as clean of a record as you could pray a car would have. At that time, someone had already bid $50,000, a pretty standard going price for a Supra. It ended up selling for a lot more, or $80,500 to be exact.

Finding a Supra that clean, with no modifications, is pretty damn impossible. They’re a favorite for modification, so it makes sense that people would fall head over heels for a stock Supra that just looks so immaculate - even it if is an automatic. Twenty-seven people bid on the final product, which isn’t a high number, but you just know every single one of them was a high roller.

That $80k is just about the price it sold for when new, accounting for inflation. The car is pictured with a window sticker reading $47,795, or about $84,000 in today’s dollars. All things considered, nearly making the price the original owner paid for a brand new car for a used one isn’t half bad.

Aside from its stock status, the Supra is also white. White, black, and gray are the most common resale colors, but the white really highlights how well this one has been taken care of because you would definitely be able to see any imperfection—and this one looks pretty much perfect. Similar Supras in black weren’t quite as big of a hit on BaT, but I’m thinking that the white played a big part in the $30,000 difference.

Thanks for posting, I had two Red 90 & 92 TT 5speed manuals before kids, loved both of them, and still think the design is timeless....some of my favourite rides...and the Supra will share alot of the same features so I can hardly wait...

Smokey Nagata’s Top Secret V12 Twin Turbo Toyota Supra! What a great experience getting the chance to shoot this piece of automotive history. The car was debuted originally at Tokyo Auto Salon in 2007. Originally Smokey was tired of waiting for Toyota to announce a new supra variant, so he built this as a tribute to a "new supra" design.

Smokey chose to go with a V12 engine from the Toyota Century and add twin turbos and custom forged internals to achieve around 1000hp to the wheels. He achieved this using dual HKS Fcon's to manage the engine, one for each bank. The goal for the car was to achieve a 400 km/h (249 mph). We grew up watching in disbelief many of Smokey's feats and general care free attitude testing these amazing machines on open public roads. In Italy, the car did 358 km/h (222.6) mph, just short of Smokey's 400 km/h goal. He still crushed his previous records.

Quote from TrapTeam “We at TrapTeam would like to send our gratitude to Smokey and Topsecret for continuing to push the envelope in Japanese Tuning and stepping out of the "norm". You are truly a hero and icon in this scene/industry and have inspired many, like ourselves, to continue the legacy.”

that car has a decent amount left in it too; he's somewhat hesitant in some areas (normal for non pro driver) and traffic held him back somewhat as well.

just goes to show how you can easily modernize and old car and easily take on the modern challenges.

Took a try at a Supra rendering myself. Basically found a slick photo of the old one and gave it the facelift of the new one with less bulbous details. What do you guys think of combining the new face with the old body proportions??

mk4 still has perfect proportions for a FR 2+2, it'll pretty much always look good with any front end
