11:34 downshifts are stupid fast
20:31 launched from zero, I timed it 3,9 seconds to do the full 1st and 2nd gear, that should be close to its 0-60 time

He goes on praising the car "one of the best car that i`ve driven, only bested by the Giulia Quadrifoglio" (hey, he`s italian after all).
Mentions weight several times, he says Toyota claims 50kg lighter than Z4 which sounds reasonable, but then says 1350kg repeatedly for the Supra. 1450kg sounds more likely.

26:33 the guy does a "flying lap". He knows what he`s doing, but it`s not a perfect lap by any means, he carries a passenger, traction control is on, there are cones limiting the use of the full track etc, It could easily be 2 secs faster in optimal conditions. Also, online times are not verified, we do not know if the cars are modified etc so take this with a giant grain of salt:

Jarama Laptimes:
Toyota GT86: 2:01.11
Porsche Boxster (986 228 PS) 1:56.86
Honda NSX-R (3.0): 1:54.39
BMW M3 (E46): 1:53.36
Toyota Supra MkV: 1:52.9
Dodge Viper GTS: 1:52.40
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG: 1:50.10
Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI: 1:48.41

Notice that the car in this video is some sort of blue - go to 10:31. Third colour?

Too bad about the poor sightlines. Out the back this was to be expected, but out front as well....:nono:

You sit low, peering through a letterbox windscreen with a high window line and the curved bonnet spearing off into the distance. No idea whether it is (it probably is) but it immediately feels bigger than, say, a Porsche 718 Cayman, whose corners are easier to place, owing to better visibility. You are aware at once where the Supra’s engine is.

Just gotta say I'm excited for the targa top that car and driver mentions. I know it's not the ideal track setup but I've got a soft spot for a targa.

Man I hope there’s a lighter shade of blue for production. Darker colours are gunna hide a lot of the exterior features/details

Actually he was not talking about the car in se, but only of the ZF 8spd software implementation. He says the calibration in the Supra is one of the best, but for him the Alfa’s is still unmatched.
He also said the tyres were a bit worn having done several laps already, so he couldn’t push to the limit.

Here's a cropped version of a GT86 - Supra profile comparison from the Roadshow review. The Supra windshield does look more restricted vertically and that longer hood will impede visibility to some extent, although it is nothing like as exaggerated as a C7's.

This car is looking sick... hopefully it will be less than $90k or I don't see a lot of people buying it, then it will come off as another failure.

Just as expected. Middle of the road car.. nothing spectacular nothing trashy.. just a middle of the road car. Mediocracy is Toyota’s speciality!! They even made a BMW feel mediocre ... lol

I love the MKIV, but I'm really going to enjoy watching people eat crow after people get their hands on the MKV and get to modding them, while proving it's a better car than we anticipated. Sure it has it's flaws, but that's what the aftermarket segment is for.

Fair talk.. and it provides a lot of space for the aftermarket to capitalize on.

Any reviews yet from some "Chris Harris esque" caliber yet?

C&D is the only one I’d believe. Not sure how significant those Australian mags are...

Chris Harris is not a middle of the road car kinda guy. He like over the board.. extra.. blow your brains on the wall kinda cars.
