Supras have always had nice interiors, I dont see how a Japanese company could do it for $20k less. Perhaps your anger is directed else whereEnjoy the interior, it may add $20k to the MSRP (if this thing is indeed 60k, this car should have been 40k if they had developed it in house or developed it with another Japanese manufacturer).
eh but when you factor in inflation, MK4 TT Supra actually comes out to be $60 K +...the cheapest year with inflation factored in was the 97MY when it retailed for $39 K MSRP which comes out to be $64 K today. From all the rumors we've sifted through, MK5 should still be a little cheaper in comparison. What anger?
The mk4 was 40k, and it was about 10k higher then the market could handle at the time. A 370z starts at 30k today, and performance wise, these 2 cars are very similar. I'm quite certain a Japanese company could have built this thing with the same performance and made it competitive price wise with today's Z.
Also the mk2 and mk3 were both very affordable cars in their day and they have even more luxurious interiors than the mk4.
Selective memory is a powerful thing in the human mind. The 370z starts at 30 and can be optioned up to 40k today. Its playing in the same perf league, i
How is it playing in the same league? Even the 4 cyl turbo on the MK5 will most likely make more torque than a Nismo Z. This isn't even factoring tunability of NA vs FI...Yes, and the car was considered ungodly expensive by mid cycle, and was a sales failure here. The 370z starts at 30 and can be optioned up to 40k today. Its playing in the same perf league, it should be competing with it price wise. Its worth an extra 5k on a Z for having a turbo charged motor with more grunt and a nicer interior. But 15 to 20k more? Thats really pushing it. We'll see, there are lots of hopeful comments coming out of Madrid reviews that suggesting $50k might be possible.
They look like they could be the same interior. The carbon is inset from the piano black trim that borders the center console. There is more felt under hvac in OP photos. They also look to both be the yellow car, if you look at bottom driver door, see the yellow peeking through.@A70TTR, the second photo in OP looks like its just plain black. So I'm assuming the CF is not standard and will be an option or only available on specific trims/packages?
Neither has been mentioned before, good find!Few things I noticed watching Shmee's video, my apologies if these have been mentioned before...I get lazy sometimes and don't look through alot of posts.
The seats look very similar in upholstery to the Lexus F cars (RCF & GSF). Wondering if these will be used on the Supra???:
Also, the return of the "reptile skin" textured dash that we all loved on the MKIV's:
Does this mean only the leather wrapped dash for the Z4 and not the Supra?...or maybe the leather dash an option on the higher trim?
Several of the journalists mentioned that Toyota said the car would have a bespoke interior so it is definitely a toyota design.Few things I noticed watching Shmee's video, my apologies if these have been mentioned before...I get lazy sometimes and don't look through alot of posts.
