Do you need really need to post this in every thread? Cool you think it’s a bmw we get that already.
Facts are supposed to be spread in this day and age of deceiving media... :)

In their defense, this is a known fact at this point.

Sorry, that was unclear. I meant that it being partly BMW was a fact. Thanks for reaffirming.

Wait and see the specs on the next Z people, a car that will likely make it to market about the same time or within a year as the new supra. You seem to forget the 370z hasn't had a major power train upgrade since it launched... in 2009. Its 2018, its bang for the buck isn't competitive anymore. You think the next Z is still going to be 330hp? It will be closer to 400 I'm guessing it won't cost that much more then the current one.

Modal, what are you talking about? The GTR is like 2 to 3x the cost of the 370z, that is not the corner of the market the Supra is going to play in. And thats very nice about the z32, not sure if you had a point there or not.

New Z is going to be killer competition for the upcoming Zupra. If they make it to the market before or first quarter of 2020 it’ll be a great time to be alive. Hoping they do the right thing and keep it all JDM and not spoil the fun with the Germans etc.

It sounds like the next Z4 will cost more. If the US Z4 is anything to go by, then the US Supra should be closer to 400hp as well. Toyota just needs to price it well.

I was just noting what the Supra was fighting off Skylines and Rx-7's and 3000 GT's in its debut, not a Z car by any means and the price is similar to today's market,

It's nice to know the car will be getting a drivetrain upgrade, and will probably be matching the Supra's 0-60 time at a lower price. That's cool, but I would still take the Supra because I doubt a 40k car will be able to match 55k in the overall package. Not counting the fact the Supra already had massive savings for not needing to build a new engine and re-use parts so all the R&D can be focused on the driving experience.

Also forgot what review it was, but they compared a 370Z, a used Porsche cayman from the 2000's era and the 86, and the driver picked the cayman and 86 as winners for the raw driving feel and enjoyment.

I do hope Nissan brings their best game with that powerplant, they'll need it.

I just hope this and the new GTR doesn't make Nissan extinct. They are loved overseas but not much in the US from my experience.

Wait...what? The Supra has always been a competitor to the Z car....it was only a competitor (not really though) to the Skyline GTR overseas. Here in the states, all publications and comparisons were against; 300ZX, RX-7, 3000GT, NSX, M3's,etc...

If Nissan puts a twin turbo motor in a Z car anytime soon, it will steal a good majority of sales from Toyota. Nissan motors have proven themselves in the past 10yrs or so, V6 or not. Now, the aftermarket....that's a different story. I think it will be pretty insane the aftermarket support for the MKV....just on name alone.

Curious to find folks still suggesting as recently as last month that the Z35 will happen. According to ‘Carmaker1’:

“in January 2018 the Renault-Nissan board scrapped the Z35 programme altogether and will NOT be redesigning it after the current Z34 Fairlady Z/370Z ends at 11-12 years in production.”

https://lexusenthusiast.com/forums/threads/nissan-z-and-gt-r-future.4333/

What evidence is there, apart from internet puff pieces on car sites, that Z35 will proceed? I hope it does, but I doubt it, based on everything to date.

I tend to concur. I've seen zero evidence that a Z35 is in the works. Sales on the Z34 are a bit too soft to justify it. But for the sake of discussion, if they did green light a Z35 this very afternoon... you wouldn't see it hit showrooms until 2024.

Nissan isn’t stupid....an existing Infiniti shared platform is already in the works for the next Z. Unlike Toyota, Nissan cares about it’s enthusiasts to continue making a Z car. Don’t be surprised of a 3.0 V6TT from an Infiniti Q60 in the next Z.

The current Z platform is ancient and pretty much no improvements were ever made to it in that timespan either. Clearly they must care very much.
