That option was put up there mostly tongue in cheek. I realize 99.9% of the people are not considering that hehe. Why would anyone want to fit a 2jz on a brand new car that’s not a shop? Just wondering lol.

What about the NOS though? That option was put up there mostly tongue in cheek. I realize 99.9% of the people are not considering that hehe.
Hah, I knew I was forgetting somethingWhat about the NOS though?
Yea I hear you on that, been there as well. I think one of the benefits of using the B58 (and other engines) as well as some other BMW bits is the aftermarket already exists. Hopefully some of those things will translate to the MkV. I know it was mentioned in the realoem leak that the wheels were basically M3/M4 fitment, which should lead to many wheels already being out there. I know we have to wait until the car hits the streets to tell though...so could be just wishful thinking.Wheels to start with, then... wait.
On an all-new platform like the A90, the first round of aftermarket parts tend to fall into 3 main categories:
1. Relatively expensive and minimally effective factory parts (TRD/NISMO etc)
2. Poorly engineered, rushed to market, parts
3. Ebay knock-offs of the previous two.
I'll let the market mature a bit before getting too serious. I've served my time as the guinea pig for the car community enough times already.
Good on you!Making and designing most of my own. They will be available for public as well.
Good on you!
When I was a young engineer, I planned to do the exact same thing. Even came close on a few occasions. The problem was that every time I arrived at a product that possessed the functionality, fit, and finish that I was willing to put my name on... I had designed something that also achieved a price point far higher than the market would bear.
Better luck to you...
A Faro arm? Very nice! Part of my gig is overseeing a small rapid prototyping shop and laboratory, and I'd love to lay my grubby paws on one of those. We have a decent selection of equipment, but most of it's pretty old school. Bridgeport mills, lathes, old CNCs that read their g-code from 3.5" floppies, stuff like that.We picked up a faro arm, so...
Why buy the BMW emblem?First mod will be a.............. BMW emblem
