Didn't read thru the entire thread. I am not surprised they left out the steering wheel LCD gear display that was on the prototype. Too bad, that seemed a bit more realistic than the crazy reversed side mirrors and it would be a unique hot button feature. In the end if the anticipated volume was a lot higher they would develop more gadgets. As it is we have a body that is a mainstream interpretation of the concept FT-1 that should be a solid performer and a really nice ride. I'd take the Toyota flavour over the BMW.

Everybody should already know how the mkv iterior looks like and that is not how the Z4 looks like. Yes, it uses a lot BMW parts, yes, a few parts are similar to those in the Z4. But no, it doesnāt look the same and not even toned down.NA. Like the Z4, just toned down.

I was really surprised by the Challenger interior when i had one for a week. Especially the infotainment screen but it doesn't compare to a base RC. The seats in the RCF takes it even higher up a notch. Porsche interiors in their basic road cars have never been appealing to me but since 918 came out, they improved drastically and the 2020 911 interior is top notch imo.

How does it not? It looks strikingly similar to the X5, 1 & 2-Series and previous BMW concept interiors.
As for depressing, more like disappointing... One of the most striking and distinct features of the MKIV was the engaging driver-centric, fighter jet cockpit interior; understated and dramatic at the same time. From what we've seen thus far, the MKV design and layout is bland/boring and the center stack is a hodgepodge mess, with the screen tacked on top as if it were an afterthought --- it already looks dated, IMO. Even the Camry has a much more aggressive and 'sporty' interior.
Which Lexus, specifically? I don't see any Lexus/Toyota styling cues; it's entirely BMW.

you know, all jokes aside, everyone complains about negative space and the plastics when it comes to the A80 dash, but I never thought much of that. I genuinely love that cockpit design etc.
I can't say the same for those door panels though. man, they are bad...
