I wasn't aware of a meme about it. I referenced it because it was designed with BMW and the silhouette is more BMW influenced.

The proportions seem off. Looks too narrow for it's length, too much visual weight towards rear, and long nose.

The FRS or BRZ looks more properly proportioned for a Toyota coupe .
I think you are approaching it from more of a design perspective where symmetry is everything. I believe you should look at it more from a heritage standpoint and compare it to Supra93's post relating the car to the 2000GT. There you will see lots of elements why the car looks the way it does. The reason for the visual weight and the long nose is because of the inline six engine.

Also, you might want to check out Kevin Hunter's (CEO of Calty) explanation of design with the FT-1. He mentioned that the car has elements of the 2000GT as well as the MKIV and others generations in the design. He also mentioned why the car has such a "long nose" in the interview.

Perhaps its the design language of the body they are going for. IMO its what makes proper fitting aftermarket wheels look so good on the RC-F
The RC-F looks miles better with properly fitted aftermarket wheels, I’m sure the A90 will as well. For roughly 60 grand I feel a car should roll out of the factory on the right wheels with the right fit.:dunno:

I'm really hoping it looks better in person/at the dealer than it does in that "leaked" video. I'm still not sold on this thing, but hopeful the official release will change my mind. I have no doubt this car is going to be great all around, even with BMW parts, but it just doesn't give me a Supra successor vibe. I was at Lexus last week and saw the LC500 up close and personal and THAT to me looks more like a modern day Supra than this thing. I know it's comparing apples to oranges, because of price/engine/ whatever, but aesthetically speaking... the LC500 resembles the MKIV more than the MKV.

Go ahead... fight me! :bat::wave:

That side profile of the FT-1 in the background is pure sex!

Price had better be good or else will be be adding performance mods to my GT86, at least it pretents to have 4 seats.
If you'd ever had the misfortune of attempting to sit in the rear seats of the mk4, you wouldn't be complaining about losing them. The GT86 rear seats are small, but they can be used in a pinch for small people and children. The mk4 rear seats... not so much. Ok for toddlers and very young children, but you have to be careful behind the power driver seat or you will maim your child.

The 2000gt was a 2 seater... the first Supra.

It's not a BMW design. It's a Toyota design. Internet is sh1t, supra is a z4 just like how an ATS is a Camaro ....
BRZ is a 2+2 seater, where driver does not sit on the rear axle (inferior weight distribution and polar moment of inertia). These are a better comparisons; notice where the driver is located vs the rear tires...

..Which renders the ability to push back the engine behind the front axle.
These considerations, make a "proper proportions" , for any coupe, IMHO.

I like big rear ends and I cannot lie.
