Oh shit, they actually hit the sub-50 number for the 6cyl? I didn't think they could pull it off. The other two are where they're supposed to be though.

Well done Toyota!

The problem is that once dealers spec their orders, I think option-free Base models will be rarer than hen's teeth.

I think the pricing looks great. Hopefully they keep it similar for Australia!

Jalopnik and their bitchy pre-teen aged fans can have a god damn cactus shoved up their ass. Is there any way to block these hoes from having access to us? IP ban them or something. This "Jalopnik Generation" and all the stupid millennials who live in their parents basement who don't even make a fucking cent and have expectations needs to be wiped out.

I see a lot of people saying some of the following bullshit on YouTube and Jalopnik, don't hold your laughter in, laugh at these idiots. The red are my responses. If you guys want to add to this you can. We can fix this as a forum and we can pin this as a new thread. In fact the mods should do this.

- "2JZ in the Supra, it would have been cool, 1000 hp ez."
Listen, child. The 2JZ is a 25 year old engine, older engines cannot be in new cars anymore for many reasons that you know. They won't be able to make a "modern one" either.

- "Toyota should have grown some "balls" to build it all themselves."
Listen, you indolent child. Toyota are not going to spend 1 billion dollars on a new series engine. They can take a BMW engine and base everything off of that and make it legendary. They can outsource everything. You seriously don't think Toyota doesn't have the engineering prowess and sorcery to make the best Supra ever? They probably did with this one. And listen one more time you douchebag, be thankful that Toyota did this? NSX? Expensive and missed the mark. GTR? Too god damn old and just meh. RX Series? HAH Mazda are just poor, so sucks to suck heh. Any other JDM sports car? Well, they must suck as a manufacturer, so they can't build "your amazing sports car anymore".

- "OMG OK IF TOYOTA REALLY SPENT EVERYTHING REGARDLESS OF PRICE TO BE THE LEGENDARY SUPRA I REALLY WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT."
No you wouldn't. Actually no hah. Your parents wouldn't. You're too much of a spoiled child and your parents wouldn't gotten you that dream Supra and you can tune it to a billion horsepower just to be like your favourite F&F stars. Grow up. Even if they did listen to your bullshit requests (I'm pleased they didn't), you wouldn't have bought it and called it a fail.

- "Just a Z4."
Oh really? Why would they be prioritizing all the Toyota key points in engineering? Reliability, stress-free, balance, taut chassis. If you have the audacity to call it a Z4, fuck off.

- "So small like a Miata."/"Ew the styling idgaf about this make another MkIV."
Um... no.

- "Everything is the best ever but the name Supra shouldn't be used."
THEY DID NOT PULL A MITSUBISHI AND NAME A FUCKING SUV AFTER THEIR LEGENDARY SPORTS CAR. They actually had the gravitas to build a sports car. They spent billions to make everything a Supra should be. Not all Supras are MkIV's. Every Supra was fundamentally different. Only thing this is missing in terms of homage is that they're missing the 2+2 configuration. It's also affordable unlike the last ones.

- "It's unreliable."/"Totes not going to make 1k hp."
You really underestimate Toyota don't you. No that's not going to happen. It will be reliable and in time it can make 1k hp. 1k hp Supras did not happen in a day kiddo.

- "They ruined it."
Enough. Shut up.

Good Pricing, could of done with a few more HP as said before, hot hatches are coming out with 345hp for ford RS and 381HP for A45AMG, but hopefully this will increase with the GRMN as we realize this is for the 1st stage and like many other manufactures, they leave room for the Performance car like AMG and RS ...and again like many say, tune ability will fix this quite quickly and I bet this car will out perform those cars on a Track or on a winding road:) (although the RS does perform well on track...the AMG just performs well in a straight)..lol BUT BUT BUT ...and I HOPE TOYOTA read this thread, they REALLY NEED to bring it with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!! Its a SPORTS car, not a Supercar or a Hypercar....Hopefully, and I think Toyota ran out of time, had to release something for now and are still in devolepment stages with the manual transmissison to fit this car. Heard roomers that they have a manual transmission for the car, but I think they are still working out the finer points to that transmission before release or waiting for the GRMN version to release the Manual Transmission.
Hopefully short shifting and not too small a Ratio...maybe....between 4.52 and 4.61 would be nice
1ST - 65km - 40Mph
2nd - 115km - 71Mph
3rd - .155km - 96Mph
4th - 195km - 121Mph
5th - 240km - 149Mph
6th - 285km - 177Mph
That would make a pretty nice DRIVERS car, in my opinion, maybe in the GRMN MTransmission version, with the extra aero trimmings that will certainly come with the GRMN car, that would be SUPRA AWESOME LOL...just my 2Cents.. hint hint,..lol

Has it been confirmed that the USA Z4 has 380hp?

The Au version doesn't have the particulate filter, is the B58B30M1, has 335hp.

I'm looking for a competent grand tourer...even with that in mind, 335 hp seems like a pretty light hitter. There are numerous turbo 4cyls out there making 300 hp with very little fuss. My expectation is for a min of 380 hp and a no hassle warranty.

If Toyota actually pulls off a sub-$50k MSRP for the base 3.0, the base 4 cylinder will probably be pretty damn attainable. Super excited!

If Toyota does plan to sell a manual transmission Supra indeed, could it be priced more than the automatic? Just curious. And will manual be only available with the inline-4, or inline-6, or both?

As others have said, BMW underrates their engines, so I'll write this in caps for folks:

THIS CAR WILL LIKELY DYNO AT ~3-330WHP

So, it's more like a Toyota rating of 370hp at the crank. So dont freak out about the output lol.

For me, the numbers don't matter.

What does matter to me is that this car is class competitive.

Will it be <13 seconds in the 1/4 mile and do 0-60 in <4.4 seconds (4 flat would be great)?

I just don't want this to be another GS-F, where all of the competitors are one notch above the car, performance wise.
Z4 does 4.6 seconds
