I love the way the GR looks, but I don't like the fact that it will be lacking compared to the German, and I would hope that they look identical just like how the TT and the NA were, but those days are gone and manufacturers feel the need to uglify their higher end trims so that the little boy racers don't need to tell people that their car is "more specialer than your face". My other hope was that both trims have the same short block, but that appears to also be farfetched. So I just hope that I like the way it will look, and that I will be able to afford it. If it does end up with a 380hp B58 I actually won't be disappointed and would look at the GR if it has a manual by then.

However if it did end up being that way, I know a guy on the forum that will uninstall the internet :D

I think I have a pretty sound guess depending on the Supra's performance.

Now that the car is revealed with official specs will performanceSound chime in and let us know what he heard/knows about these ā€œalphaā€ cars? Lol

I've pretty much lost interest on what @PerformanceSound has to say about the GRMN car. It hasn't amounted to anything more than him prancing around singing "I know something you don't know..."

At this point I honestly hope he is wrong so I can buy the current 2020 MY and never look back.

The only issue I see with the future GRMN models is the price. The base car should've started around $45K for what it is.

Sure, the future models will be amazing and probably offer a pure driving experience but I can only imagine what the pricing for those models will be. $50-70k range offers a lot of amazing cars from more "prestigious" brands and then on top of that you have BMW sourced parts so it does not offer the good old Toyota reliability that makes people buy these cars over German competition.

The R35 was significantly cheaper compared to all the rivals. The GR Supra not so much.

Or you can wait until 2030 when the final MY rolls off the line and go back and buy one of the "good years", used. :p

Really? Sounds like "you know something we don't" about the GRMN based on that comment. Please, do tell....

I don't know anything about the GRMN Supra, and have never claimed otherwise. You are the one claiming to have super seekrit insider knowledge. Yet all that you've really provided us with is "It's coming, and it will be badass." There's no information there to work with. It's not a personal jab at you. I understand you don't want to "burn" your source.

"Wait my children, for the good stuff is coming!" is good enough to start a religious cult with... but not quite enough information to make an informed car buying decision with.

My point, you ass jacket, is how can you make a comment like that when you yourself donā€™t know of a GRMN model coming??? I am asking you, how do you know there isnā€™t one coming??? Right, STFU!

Good enough to tell you to hold it out and wait for it to come out, so don't buy the GR Supra yet.

I can't understand how you're an engineer.

Since we now know our fate and Toyota went to bed with BMW, all I ask for in the GRMN is more power whether its a B58 or a variant of, that is ok.

A new cylinder head by toyota/yamaha would be great but I doubt it will happen.

Manual transmission

Non power seats, cloth versions are fine much like the Aussies GRMN Avalon.

I don't need the JBL stereo and woofers either!

Slap a carbon roof skin, Aero that is real, replace a few other bits with lighter materials and throw that horrid steering wheel in the garbage!

I wouldn't be so fast to buy a 1st MY car with potential GRMN versions to follow. Look at the M2 boys, they are all suffering from depreciation now that BMW offered up the S55 M3/M4 motor, sucks for the earlier adopters.
