When will it be at dealerships, & when should we expect test drives?

Hi All, been watching from afar for a while now. Decided to sign up to get involved :grouphug:

As the title suggests, when are you all expecting the Supra to turn up at dealers for the test drives to start? My local dealer has no info on it and I want to know how good it drives (and see some colours hopefully) before I get an order in :drive:

I'm not totally sure about the UK, but I'm guessing July to August for the US is when dealers will start seeing allocations come in. Launch Edition cars will likely be June to July, but I'm not sure how many will be available for test driving.

Does anyone know if some of the high volume dealers will get some pre-production cars for display & foot traffic? I live too far from Detroit and Dallas HQ :(, but would still love to see one in person.

They're emphasizing "summer" worldwide, but remember that fall doesn't begin until late September lol

Most of the dealers have been saying late June for Canada. Iā€™m still expecting mine around Aug though as I donā€™t believe them

For the UK I've been told that if you have a confirmed reservation there is going to be a "Supra Experience" likely in May. My dealer said it will likely be an event at a track or proving ground to try out the car. No idea when they will be available for regular test drives though. If you don't have an order in yet then I'm not sure when it will be possible to test drive, if you are on the waiting list you might get lucky with an order sooner! Apparently they will be getting cars for the showroom at some point but they will not be used for test drives.

Re test driving: In Canada, unless Toyota Canada organizes some special drive events, forget it. Don't expect ANY dealer to allow you a test drive for at least a year, if ever. All incoming cars will be pre-sold and so off-limits. The days of dealer "demonstrators" being made available for low-volume performance cars from mass-market manufacturers are seemingly long gone here (see: Focus RS, Civic Type R, etc.).

Sounds good, definitely want to see one, or at least proper colour samples before deciding to go ahead or not. Likewise, my selected dealer has been no use with information that isnā€™tā€™t already in the emails or on the website etc

Test driving and ordering your Supra
6. You will be contacted by TGB and/or your selected Authorised Toyota dealer and invited to conduct a test drive at the earliest opportunity.
7. In accordance with clause 11 of the Agreement, you will have up to seven calendar days after the date of your test drive to place an order for a Supra vehicle. At this stage you will be required to sign an order form at your selected Authorised Toyota dealer which contains separate terms and conditions governing your Supra purchase. In accordance with clause 6 of the Agreement, your Reservation Fee can then be returned to you or it can be deducted from the final purchase price of the vehicle.
8. You have up to 14 calendar days after placing your order with your selected Authorised Toyota dealer to cancel your order. You can cancel your order by notifying your nominated Centre in writing. Once you have cancelled your order, the reserved vehicle will be released and the vehicle will no longer be reserved for you. Your Reservation Fee will be returned to you in accordance with clause 10 of the Agreement.

I have a reservation (not the waiting list) I just don't fancy ordering one without at least seeing it properly first and a quick spin for how it feels. I can't pick a colour either (I would pick red based on the launch but don't think it's metallic so I'm swaying for grey currently) so be good to see it in one of the colours on the pallet to see if it could sway me

That's why I am expecting a test drive. TGB have mentioned it in the terms and conditions, so someone should know something somewhere about timescales for a test drive

Same here, grey or blue maybe, but I do like the pics of the red car. Or I might not buy, but certainly not ordering based on the website info alone. I think reviews need to be awesome to justify the price too. Get Chris Harris in one

I doubt you will be able to test drive. I tried to drive a GT350, Focus RS, Civic Type R, STI RA, etc. when they had just come out. All of them were claimed to be too limited to be driven by others who werenā€™t committed to the car.

I've spoken with some TMS USA managers and that appears to be their outlook as well.

It's ultimately just another limited release car (for now) like those others.

Other countries appear to be a different story as I believe they will have test drives available in certain areas. I think we will have them here in JP as well. In any case, it's outside my expertise for sure.

I am just gonna test drive a Z4 lol. But in all seriousness all the dealers I have spoken to are speculating July for first launch cars.
