I have to be disingenous with things, but yes. More details and rumors will emerge however as times goes by.

One good thing is that the standard car starts at 50k; the price estimates for the GRMN are now a bit lower which is awesome.

Yeah, my estimate is about 2-3 years; the 86 GRMN took 4.

Iirc, they debuted a concept about 2 years after the production model debuted and then 2 years later the GRMN was available (100 units, Japan only).

The big caveat here and why it may come sooner is the A90 was developed top down as a race chassis according to Tada and the others, so it may take far less time despite their comments that's there is still much work to do.

Being that Toyota set their eyes on the Cayman in regards to competition, it's plausible to think the GRMN model may be coming after Porsche's new Cayman GT4. This post speculates the car housing a 420HP flat 6 with a 6spd manual propelling the car to 60 in 4.0 seconds (for approximately $90k Euros)... judging by Toyota's solid chassis with 325HP and a 0-60 of 4.1 seconds, I feel the A90 has set Toyota up for success in regards to building a sound GRMN model that'll give this GT4 a run for its money at a far less price!...noting that Porsche's previous GT4 won the hearts of many enthusiasts and "purists", Toyota has picked a great benchmark that is very attainable!

Any thoughts?! @A70TTR @PerformanceSound

I had a long response to this, but decided to just say more or less yes. that's pretty much exactly where the GRMN would fall in line, but for less money.
Thank you for your input haha! There really is a good future for this chassis...good to know! Plus, it'll be more mod friendly than the GT4...great possibilities ahead!

So 50lbs lighter, about 120hp more, a big wang, stiffer suspension and a PDK/hybrid or a manual option for 80k. Sounds like a good time.

I was at the Detroit International Auto Show this weekend, and while speaking with a rep there he mentioned that "6 piston calipers and some other goodies" would be available not too long after the initial release. Any truth to this @A70TTR I am thinking the GRMN car no? ;):D

I'm imagining you are talking to the rep about all these little goodies about a GRMN version, the chassis in motomachi and other stuff you can't tell us and the rep is there
