I love the overall exterior styling on the new Z, except the new larger BMW grills. Enough that I'll probably look at getting a used one in 2 years after the BMW depreciation kicks in.

What made it harder to choose is the color difference. Maybe if you compared it against the phantom grey it would look more appealing.

Other than that I feel the BMW without the front angle looks very good, almost like a Q60. The face is a big woah what happened to it.

The Supra has a few odd angles due to the fake vents and the red clashing, IMO. On the phantom they look better. Now the interior on the Supra looks way roomier.

At the end I still choose the Supra due to the bias in me. I love both car manufacturers so this car is a win overall for me.

The Z4 just looks so "coherent", the wheel arch looks so right with the dimensions, the hip of the car also looks so right

The profile looks great

The Supra is not bad, but the overhangs look a big off... the wheel base may be a bit short. I feel that had they made it 2+2 with a short back seat, extending the wheel base by a couple of inches would have made it perfect. I've posted profile comparison overlay of the 370Z and Supra and the 370Z looks just about "right" in regards to wheel base and overhang fit.

This Supra's roof looks a bit funny, but not bad. The styling of the car's bumpers is more suited for a slightly wider car, maybe if the Supra had an extra inch width each side, it would be PERFECT.

Overall, the Z4... looks amazing as is...

The Supra looks good, but will need to be lowered to look its best

In looking at cars, what grabs my attention is the overall shape of the body. I prefer long, flowing lines over hard angles and "box-like" looks. I purchased my '87 MKIII Supra due to the body shape, especially when viewed from above (wider in the front and slowly tapered toward the rear). Many years later, I bought a '01 Z3. Loved the long hood and the wide hips. It had great lines and just looked good. Fast forward some years and I bought a '07 Cayman S. Same thing here, flowing lines and curves. Definitely a looker.

Looking at the comparison photos above, the MKV jumps out at me. It speaks to the things I visually like in a car. The Z4 reminds me a little of a Volvo S60 sans hardtop. No knock against the Z4, just not what grabs my attention. For me, Supra, hands down.

This is not a good comparison for the Toyota. You can really notice how much classier and rich the BMW looks compared to the Toyota.
I think I’d want my Supra in black so those little ground effects winglets aren’t so noticeable.

Red looks really bad on the Supra imo. If they were both the same grey color I think It would be fair. Pics posted by OP favor the Z4 more too. They're taken from a lower and closer angle at the front and back causing a fisheye effect making it look wider. Also, MKV pics look photoshoped/CGI.

We need these two side by side in real life.

A convertible has never been in the cards for me. Only nitpick I have is the steering wheel. The Supra looks tons better than in these pics so easy choice for me!

Why couldn't Toyota angle the Supra's interior like the Z4 to give it more of a driver focused feel? I personally like the Supra better, but I'm sure BMW fans prefer the Z4.

All the driver needs is the steering wheel:rofl:

I like the exterior and interior of the supra most. Except that ugly bulky steering wheel. I'd throw that out and put a BMW M wheel in asap.
