On fastestlaps it says full NRing? The Z4 7:55 was a full lap
I think the M2 comp 7:52 was BTG
'nurburgring' on here knows a bit more of the nitty gritty
And the A90 pulled a 7:40?!On fastestlaps it says full NRing?
7:52 for BTG in M2C is even less impressive then... on Sachsenring ther's barely a difference between M2 and M2C...
Prototype ~7:38 right?And the A90 pulled a 7:40?!
I'm good with either lolPrototype ~7:38 right?
If production version pulls officially 7:42 I will still be impressed
Sport Auto is the reference for Nordschleife lap timing, for many reasons: pro drivers, real showroom stock cars, consistent metodology, among others. It`s a full course lap, and the closest to an apples to apples comparison we will ever get.? So both are full or is 1 BTG? Cant understand from Your post
I'm not huge fan of laptimes tho, different temperature and drivers capability on different days, not the same tires 99% of time (like how MPSS can compete with CUP2 for example) all make a difference..Sport Auto is the reference for Nordschleife lap timing, for many reasons: pro drivers, real showroom stock cars, consistent metodology, among others. Z4: 7.55,41 (EU version, 342hp, 3,443lbs)
M2C: 7.52,46 (410hp, 3655lbs)
Both tested by the same driver (Christian Gebhardt).
If the Supra was tested in the same conditions, given its weight advantge and similar power, should be a bit faster than the Z4, and close to the M2C.
As for the 7.38, it`s is not happening with the same testing methodology. Not saying that it didn`t happen, but it`s not realistic to expect the final street version we know to put down that kind of lap time. Test mules could have been lighter, running different mapping, or maybe it was a bridge to gantry laptime, so many variable on these kind of tests.

My thinking is if the just put super sticky rubber on, it would be a great promotional tool. They could even offer the tires as a dealer installed option. Or maybe thatās what the TRD parts are. Aero, and wheels with stickier tires for that Nurburgring attempt. What if the mules had the US Z4 map at 382hp along with better tires and less weight? 7:38 sounds very doable if it runs 7:4X in stock form.
Exactly this. Surely if it can do the claimed time then the perfect time to announce that was at the actual reveal? This is becoming silly.
People are wildly speculating off speculation.
It has not done an officially timed lap at the ring yet.
It's not a 7:40 car untill it does it, and trying to estimate improvements to that fictional time is just ridiculous.
Tada saying "Me thinks its will do 7:40" is like Homer Simpson claiming "the HOMER will do a sub 6 min Nurburgring lap time"", then have people in the crowd go on to further claim "but that's going to be beaten to a sub 5:30 because of new improvements in his second gen".... like the MkV claim at this point, its all total fiction until it puts its money where its mouth is.
If he MkV can do 7:40, the Toyota need to do it, not claim it, which brings the hard questions:
>WHY doesn't i have a lap time by now? - The time to publicise a good one was at launch, that's normal build cycle timing.
we got nothing - despite the fact It's been to the ring for extensive testing - surely the opportunity was there is in years of dev to put down a time.
>Are they too cheap to rent out the ring for exclusive testing?
>Are they bound by BMW not to produce a lap time?
>Did Toyota wake up to how nightmarishly hard a quick time at the ring is, and realise they went ready?
>Is the Z4 Quicker and thus they don't want to look to be in competition?
>Did it do a time that was horrible and they don't want to publish it?
>Was it estimated to be so bad they didn't want to attempt it?
>Are they still planning a later attempt when they can put down a good time?
Whatever the reasons is, there is a reason why we haven't got one yet, and the longer it takes the more likely to be a negative reason than a positive one.
Until it does an actual lap time, its all just fictional hot air. Might as well speculate on the winner of the 2025 F1 season.
Some fair points. We have a very reliable source claiming the 7:38 time of early mules that were track purpose built and the guy who developed the car claims it will do 7:4Xs (probably a 7:49 rather than a 7:40).
We can also speculate as much as we want. No one said it will definitely, 100% run these times in stock form right out of the dealership no questions asked. People who are against the MKV have plagued the forum and claim they have the right to complain about a car that hasn't even been released to the public yet and repeating the same topic over and over again. At least we have actual quotes from people who actually drove the car and/or work at Toyota. If you don't want to believe them, that's up to you. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Toyota came out with such lap times and you guys would still not believe them saying it's doctored, not in 100% stock form, had only 1/4 of fuel in the tank or the driver weighs only 100lbs with only 9 toes.
I'm confident Toyota will release the official time between now and release to keep the car relevant and attract buyers when it arrives at dealerships, until then speculation is all we have.
