In the past with Scion and other limited edition vehicles for the North American market, the numbered cars usually included Canada and the USA. While there are supposed to be 1500 Launch Edition cars, I suspect (based on random things I've read) that 1200 may be for the USA and 300 may be for Canada. If that is the case, nobody knows how many cars total will make it to Canada for MY20.

As for pricing, I highly doubt all the cars sold here will be Launch Edition's, which means that price is likely the starting price and the Launch Edition will cost more -- unless, they are launching the cars this summer by only selling Launch Editions until the 300 are gone and then will start bringing in other colours and options.

I haven't spoken with any of my old contacts in the dealership world, so this is all speculation based on very little information but pieced together through the eyes of someone who worked at a Toyota dealership for a while.

This is possible, but I doubt Canada would get 300, and the USA 1200, since the USA has 10X the population of Canada, but the alotment you suggest the US would be getting only 4 times the number of limited edition cars Canada is getting. Considering the UK with 4X the population of Canada is getting only 25 limited Edition cars, I doubt Canada would get 300.

Personally, I don't want the limited Edition, as I don't like the all-black wheels at all. Also, you would think Toyota dealers, who now have the ordering documents for the cars, including MSRP and detaials/options, would have been notified if they were limited edition models. For these reasons, I don't think Canada is getting any limited edition models.

There still is a lack of info though, and at my dealership, it did show balck and white cars would have the red interior. So, I don;t know if this indicates limited edition, or is this just the color scheme that these colors come in, even for the premium edition.

What have you heard/read that indicates we are getting the limited editions?

At least some dealers have ordering information as I have ordered my car, and ordering is being submitted March 1. I actually met a member of the forum who had the #2 spot. I've reached out to other dealerships, ( smaller ones ) and it seems they have no information and have been told they will get 1 or 2 cars. These will be given to them, no choices on colours. They could in theory move them around their dealer network to get people the colour they want.

I have also been told by multiple dealerships that 300 is the magic number for Canada year one. So those who have a car on order, be excited because you won't be driving by many for a few years.

Just got out of a meeting with my dealer. So there is technically two trims. An “x” and a “b”. The B is a fully loaded with adaptive cruise/parking/collision/blind spot and the X is a fully loaded but without the safety features. The X is apparently only coming in phantom grey and extremely limited and won’t be releasing for about 4ish months after the B trim. No launch edition for Canada

Yup, thats basically what I heard/saw on the ordering forms at my dealer. I didn't realize though that the X version was only Phantom Grey, and it would be released later. I know a customer or two that will be very disappointed by this news.

Does anyone know, do the safety features add any weight? I was initially hoping to get a car equivalent to the "base" model the USA is getting, as it's 120lbs lighter than the "premium". The premium in the US doesn't have the optional safety features. So, the fully loaded car Canada is getting, with the safety features, is potentially the heaviest Supra possible.

From the USA website of the Launch version- I don't think Canada is getting any of the 1500 marked for the states.
We are getting our own version of some type of "launch "car.

Nice. Lets hope dealers stick to promises of MSRP when the release gets closer.

I think it’s an ok price based on it being fully loaded but it’s still gunna hurt the ol bank account. But that’s why ramen noodles are made right? Haha
Also interesting tidbit. The second car my dealer is getting in is going to the owners wife for her 60th birthday, so much for the cars going to enthusiasts...

Talked to my dealer and got the same info on X and B. I asked about how the colours would be distributed , he replied that Toyota Global produces the amount of cars based on historical sales (reds ,white ,black...)then (hopefully) takes info from dealerships and tries to ship out according to pre orders or in this case deposits.
If your dealer has a good relationship with the rep it may help getting your colour choice if its a lower volume one or high demand. The earlier the deposite was made can help as well.
This in the perfect world would make sense , shipping cars that are sold instead of dealers swapping cars once they land would be chaotic.

TORONTO, ON – FEBRUARY 28, 2019 – Drive the legend, reborn – for less than you’d expect. The Toyota Supra returns to Canadian showrooms for the first time in more than 20 years, as the fully-loaded 2020 Toyota GR Supra prepares to turn heads and bust records on Track Days this year, at a MSRP of just $64,990, fully-loaded.

“This is the classic Toyota sports car that racing enthusiasts have demanded – equally at home on the track as it is on the open road or the city street, aggressively styled to convey its authentic performance credentials, and loaded with features and amenities that will remind every Supra owner just how much fun driving can be,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice-President, Toyota Canada Inc.

The 2020 Toyota GR Supra is an iconic marque from Toyota’s history, brought forward into the future. This two-seater sports coupe is the first Toyota to earn the “GR” badge – signifying that it has been track tested and fine-tuned by GAZOO Racing, Toyota’s in-house motorsports team, which counts Toyota’s global president, Akio Toyoda, amongst its drivers.

The GR is well-earned, with a lightweight, rigid, and 50:50 balanced body wrapped around a high-performance powertrain. With a low centre of gravity, and 335 horsepower plus 365 lb-ft of torque delivered to the rear wheels, the Supra is ready to put all challengers in the rear-view mirror. It starts with a 3.0L inline 6 gas engine, enhanced with direct injection, variable valve timing, a twin scroll turbocharger.

This powerful yet efficient engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic that delivers lighting-quick up- and down-shifts, enhanced with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for manual control. Short ratios for the lower gears and a Launch Control function enable powerful acceleration and maximum traction, with an estimated 0-96 km/h time of just 4.1 seconds.

A limited slip active differential on the rear axle uses an electric motor and multi-plate clutches to minimize understeer and oversteer, as well as controlling lateral torque when cornering – even when accelerating or braking – to enable greater momentum and control through turns.

On Track Days, the driver may engage the Supra’s Sport Mode setting, which reduces intervention by the vehicle’s traction and stability control functions, sharpens throttle response and active differential tuning, boosts steering weight and improves shift crispness for a more visceral driving experience.

Precise handling is assured through features such as responsive, sport-tuned adaptive electric steering, adaptive variable suspension with sport tuning and dynamic damper control, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and four-piston red painted Brembo brake calipers.

But performance is just the start of the package: The 2020 GR Supra offers much more, in a fully-loaded configuration.

The 2020 GR Supra is fitted with an extensive list of standard features, starting with a 425-Watt 12-speaker Premium JBL Display Audio system with 8.8-inch screen, integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio and untethered Apple CarPlay. A new Toyota Supra Connect feature enables a full-service concierge service, remote locking/unlocking, embedded navigation with over-the-air updates, automatic collision detection with SOS and roadside assistance, stolen vehicle locator, and more. Additional technology features – standard on every model – include a fully digital gauge cluster and head-up display.

The 2020 GR Supra embodies its rich lineage at first glance, with a design that echoes that of the previous, fourth-generation Supra (1993-2002), the landmark 1967 Toyota 2000 GT, and the 2014 Toyota FT-1 Concept vehicle. A stretched hood highlights the engine while a taut but spacious two-seat cabin accentuates Supra’s ultra-wide stance. The prominent central front grille is flanked by large air intakes to aid with brake cooling. A double-bubble cabin roof design pays tribute to the Toyota 2000 GT even as it reduces drag. And an integrated rear spoiler helps suppress aerodynamic lift. The Supra’s curbside presence is punctuated by six-lens LED headlamps that integrate both daytime running lights and turn signal functions and rear combination lamps that blend the turn, tail and stop functions into a distinctive main ring shape.

The Supra is a performance machine – but it’s also intended to be a daily driver. Standard heated sport seats clad in premium leather feature an integrated head restraint and a narrow main section that combines with generous shoulder bolsters to firmly hold the driver and passenger/navigator. A lightweight composite hatch opens to reveal a smartly trimmed luggage area with space for track tools or bags for a weekend getaway. In addition, every Supra enjoys many standard built-in comfort and convenience amenities. These include dual zone automatic climate control, carbon fiber interior trim, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, a smart key system with push button start, aluminum scuff plates, integrated garage door opener, 14-way power driver and passenger seats with seat memory systems and power adjustable side bolsters and lumbar support, auto-dimming power-adjustable and heated exterior mirrors linked to the driver’s seat memory system, and more.

The fully-loaded Supra is also extremely well equipped with a bundle of advanced safety systems, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, full speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, road sign assist, parking sonar with rear collision warning, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, a tire pressure monitoring system, an adaptive front lighting system with automatic high beam function, eight airbags, including driver and passenger knee airbags, a backup camera, and more.

The 2020 Toyota GR Supra goes on sale this summer at Toyota Dealers across Canada. For complete and up to date details and specifications, visit www.toyota.ca/supra
