After seeing the Supra in the flesh, it definitely reminds me more of the mid-90's RX-7. I saw no A80 in it. Getting back to the RX-7, I've always considered it the most attractive of the 90's Japanese sports cars. Even today, very few cars are as attractive as it still is. Too bad they had to put the rotary in it.

I agree, from what I have seen in pictures. As you can see, I had an RX7 years ago. Love that the Supra resembles an updated version of it.

That's funny, when you take into consideration that the RX7 styling was inspired by the Cayman's ancestors, and now the A90 is hunting the 718

Although rotary and has its flaws, that’s what makes an rx7 an rx7. Rich heritage and history.

I drove a friend's 94 FD, it has a built 13b with a GTX30R makes like 450 whp on e85. That rotary is sure fun, and the sound is very different from any other car I've driven.

The Electronics and wiring are all pretty much BMW. I don't think hooking up a toyota engine to them is "easy"
It's true, if the platform already exists with the B46/48, you might as well go with it instead of using a Toyota engine, especially when it's the budget version anyway (and you're already using the B58 for the top-of-the-line version).

That said, it's not like it's the most difficult thing to do, Toyota spent a bit of time to figure out putting a BMW engine into their all-Toyota electronics and wiring in other cars.

Heh, I have doubts that any of the electronics are Toyota's. I just saw some of the in-depth videos, and the door handles, seat leather, and other small details all are the same as a BMW. Now, I am not saying that is a bad thing, but I assure you it would be easier to swap a S58 in than a 2JZ.

It's all very clearly BMW. I'm not saying it would be easy for you or I to swap in a Toyota engine, but for BMW/Toyota? Not too bad.

Nope, I understood it clearly. Why take offense to someone else's comment just because it's negative against the MKV.
Because we live in a society where every male gets offended or hurt when someone doesn't agree with them

I'm just pointing out that such comments "I'm not going to lie, I'd rather have a Celica GT-4 than a Supra" are really unnecessary and likely to be contentious here. Whats gained by such a comment? It's just made to drag the Supra and those who like it into the mud. I have nothing against the Celica, nor any other car that comes up here, but I don't want one. Do I make that point on every post possible? No.
Point and case. I'm not trying to drag the MKV through the mud lol. I simply love the Celica GT4 and always have. If given the opportunity to choose between the two, I would choose the Celica > MKV because why... You guessed it, I like it more. Different strokes for different folks and if you seriously think I am trying to drag people who like the car through the mud you haven't read a lot of my posts regarding the MKV. Sorry i offended you :nixon:

Why assume it was a negative slight against the MkV?

The GT4 is an awesome car... In ST205 spec it was the pinnacle of rally homologation cars for the time (until they stopped developing it and the Evo and Impreza took over)

Well, it perceived as a negative slight against the MKV. I was just trying to grasp how someone would not pay $500 for a GT-4. It's a badass car that unfortunately never made it Stateside. :nono:

"Not gonna lie... I rather have a Celica GT-Four than the new Supra"

"'Cool. I wouldn't pay 500$ for a Celica GT-Four"

Thats fine, but with so much negative social media commentary against the new Supra from past owners, JDM guys, video gamers and keyboard warriors, you must be aware that such a comment would be taken the way it was taken. These people go out of their way to drag the new Supra down, and your comment seemed to be in that spirit as well. I mean, your choice to say that at all does say something about intention.
