I recall reading conflicting reports on the pre-production (still in camou) drives. Some said it didn't have fake sound, others said it did just like all the BMWs these days. If I had to bet I think it will have BMWs "active sound design". Though like all recent BMWs it will likely be easy to turn off. Heck you probably will even be able to use Bimmercode to do it.How does one get invited to this event? Look at Matt Farah's face when the tail got squirrelly.
It does sound good but is it real engine sounds or simulated? At the M Track Days events the BMW's and M's do sound amazing and throaty but they were simulated.
The fake sound only applies to the interior either way, outside this car sounds fantastic from outside.
Does the EU version with particulate filter reduce hp as well(like the BMW Z4)?
It might do, I remember a lot of the pre-production reviews thought it felt like around 350hp and some said maybe a bit more. I can't imagine that they would have made it feel slower than that with the extra tuning time etc. Just have to see once the reviews come out!wonder if it feels faster than the advertised “335” hp?
Do you know the technical differences between the three that influence the sound? Different mufflers, particulate filter, valves, etc. or maybe just software?
