Killer performance for the price. We knew this was going to happen. With aftermarket support ths will be an amazing platform.

That is...fast  The G's seem very promising, esp beatin 718.
Can't wait to see what times it will put on tracks (wish someone put CUP2's or Trofeo R to see its max potential tho..), I'm still hoping it will be on par with 718S or base C7. And 99% it will beat M2C, A110, Ftype V6S, TT RS, 4c...
Cant wait for comparision tests :drive:

That skidpad number is insane. The car felt quick on track but I wouldn't have guessed those Michelins could pull 1.07g, Jesus.

I guess my "feels faster than 335" wasn't off then. Toyota is sandbagging like crazy on the specs. I feel like weight is gonna be incorrect as well, maybe closer to the JDM cars ~3250lb rating.

Edit: Just saw they weighed it at 3372. Wonder what the base car weighs without the audio and whatnot, probably not too much less...

One of the C&D writers is saying the US Supra matches the US Z4's hp because it doesn't have the particulate filter like the EU version.

AWESOME acceleration! 3.8s and 12.4!!! no way a 3370lb car would rocket to 60mph in 3.8's, not even with 335WHP!

...the tested curb weight broke my heart .. a little bit lol

i looked up the video again and it seems it got TE37 Ultra's and R888D's....so i guess the 1478KG/3257lb figure wasn't totally stock? maybe they got the base model 3.0? .."saa na...."

"slightly outaccelerating the BMW M2 Competition and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350."
if only JDMuscle was here to see this

Ehh.. It's a driver's race. I've personally watched a '17 GT350 run back to back 12.1 - 12.3 @ 118MPH showroom-stock in pretty terrible DA (summer evening, probably ~1600+' DA). They're very difficult to launch, but a driver with some seat time will chip their way down into the 11's as the MPH easily suggest it's capable of. From a roll the GT is going to run away, no question. Per the C&D comparo posted above, the Supra is out-trapped by its competitors which 1) is kudos to the Supra for its 60' capability and overall efficiency putting the power down but 2) again means its a driver's race and not as clear cut. The car with the higher MPH generally has a lower ET 'potential'. And, as also noted in the article, it gets left behind past the 1/4 mile which is exactly what the MPH disparity indicates will happen.

That all said, once this car gets into the hands of enthusiasts that understand how to maximize conditions in great DA, I wouldn't be surprised to see 11's on a drag radial.

Just noticed the quoted 70-0 braking at 160' for the MKIV is incorrect (or at least not canon) --- it was 149' which is noteworthy as it held the record until 2004 when the Porsche GT finally dethroned it by 3'.

As I mentioned, all data from the same source: C&D instrumented test.

I recall the consensus on the supraforums was that the MKIV Supra provided to Car and Driver was a ringer car with the boost turned up slightly which gave it abnormally quick 0-60 and 1/4 mile times compared to other stock MKIV Supras (unless it was a factory freak).

Ah.. 1993 C&D. The 149' C&D record was a few years later --- maybe a 1997 issue? There's nothing mechanically that would have changed from 93-97 that would have influenced braking, so the difference must have been the surface they tested on and/or how the test was conducted. It's possible the OEM tires may have changed, and that would have influenced braking, but not enough to drop 11', IMO.
