Could we expect after market "FT1 Body Kits" for the new Supra?

Would you consider mod the Supra to look closer to the Ft1 Concept?

As much as I like the final version of the Supra, some of us would not mind make aesthetic changes to the vehicle that would resemble closer to the original FT1 concept?

I am curious of some adventurous Body work Mod companies have plans to do such kits?:hide:

It would be cool yes, but very difficult to do. The radiator would be blocked by a FT1 nose and would have to be split and relocated, and the wing would be extremely difficult to replicate with its hydraulic or electric mechanism.

Actually the nose of the FT1 could be made and functional just some smart angle design have to be made to divert the airflow inward. They may not be exactly as the FT1, but something similar could be design, Im sure

Maybe some with awesome PS skills can add on the FT1's nose, see-through hood, mirrors and wing onto the production Supra so we can see how it might look.

I would support body parts\kits etc that effectively DELETE the FT1's worst influences lol. First up, someone please make a 1 piece door that gets rid of that stupid door vent, thanks a lot for that FT1.

IMO, the mk5s front bumper turned out nicer then the FT1s.

Anybody get a look at the hood adjusters on this thing yet? Is it possible to dial down the gap around that stupid clamshell hood? I see the production cars fixed the alignment issues the preproduction cars had (thank god), but the gap around the hood is still unsightly and seems larger then necessary.

The Vents are good but move them away from the door and pushed them back and make them functional like the Alfa 4c/Cayman which have similar vents for actual practical reason

that wouldn't be a body kit, that is a kit car. at the end of the day, the supra doesn't share the proportions of the FT1, it is taller, frumpier, the read end is shorter, etc...it will always look odd compared to the FT1 so unless you're a rich ass mofo and willing to basically re-design the car yourself, it will not turn out anything better than an 86 wearing a LFA or Lexus face...

Not a one piece door but Toyota already made a solution for that vent. Just color match it before installing.

I think it would be pretty hard to pull off. If the car had a longer wheelbase and was larger, I would be all over it. Being that it's pretty much the same size as the 86, i think it would look odd

You mean TRD did. Its better, but I'd prefer a 1 piece door that just completely designed the vent out.

that car was simply a TRD aesthetic prototype too...

that's nowhere near everything planned from TGR. it's going to be like the 86 was with TRD, Modellista, TOM's etc

TRD is Toyota. Or at least it's their aftermarket outsourcing and relabeling department.
Well, an arm of Toyota, much like Gazoo is. I just find it funny that it's the GR Supra and Gazoo must have had plenty to say about the car we were given and the parts on it. Then the moment TRD gets an opportunity to make something for the car, they go, "that's fucking stupid, deleted!" (door "vent")
