For now, this program is Japan only like Nismo heritage. It is also strictly for Supras as sort of a reward and marketing tool centered around the Toyota flagship status.

A60 = not a Supra in Japan (Celica XX), and it's old as hell

Ugh.. That was speculated.. Assuming they reproduce the disco'd interior parts that doesn't do use LHD guys any good. :(

It's still more a Supra then the mk5 ;) At least the mk2 earned it's A series chassis code and it's not just a marketing gimmick :p

I've been to XX meets in Tokyo. Those guys know the lineage, it was just a momentary marketing mistake (going with XX there while using Supra everywhere else in the world since 79). Shit, many of them debage their cars and put the North American Celica Supra ones on.

If they can put mk3 parts back into production, they can do mk2 as well.

Do you have any idea when or how we will find out what parts will be offered through the program and how they can be ordered/purchased? I have a lot of A70 stuff I'd like to get.

Not a lot of has been covered as of yet, even internally, but my understanding is that they will look at discontinued parts and what folks are trying to acquire for restoration first.

Thankfully Shigeki Tomoyama is an avid A80 owner and knows many of the A70/A80 guys due to this. So he's likely already spoken with and has an idea of where to start, and they have Mazda and Nismo as frames of reference as well.

Gazoo will be releasing a list of these parts within the next few months, but they will likely be special order through dealers in JP. That's not ruling out offering parts common with cars of other countries, but right now it seems unlikely there will be a system outside of Japan (unless they expand it, which is possible) .

So basically for now, become friends with the Japanese owners and/or people in Japan that can order locally and ship overseas. As for large items, well that might end up being expensive shipping wise.

Ultimately I think that due to outcry (and sales volumes for other coubtries) they will end up setting up a system in Europe, NA, etc, but Nismo apparently did that at first and then shut it down and everything is now special order from JP.

Nismo actually had their own Heritage Parts program available to owners in Europe and North America briefly? I had no idea.

No doubt Nissan must be aware there is demand from R32, R33 and Z32 owners on both continents who have original Z32's and imported GT-R's.

Yes, according to what I have read, but it was very brief.

The issue is that a bunch of this heritage stuff is a marketing play. That doesn't mean it's not an awesome victory for owners, but when you consider the goals of the company you start to realize that there are going to be limits on what they're prepared to do do.

Nismo afaik has expressed little interest in anything outside of making parts for the R32/33/34 Skylines (flagship vehicles with the reputation and heritage to suit). I could see them doing some Z parts for the same reasons, but when it comes to Toyota I'm a little more hesitant.

Yeah I figured I'd be ordering in Japan and having it shipped over. I'm currently in the build stages of a JZA70 TT-R for someone and some of it restoration work. Very interested to see what's going to be available.

It's not even the best Celica, let alone Supra :)

(happily banned)
Hey, you should get a mk1 as well so you can complete your collection of prototype Supras. mk1 was the first attempt at the Celica Supra sports car concept, perfected with the mk2. mk3 was the first attempt at the sports Gran Tourer/supercars concept, perfected with the mk4. ;)

Mk2. The lightest of all the good Supras (which excludes the mk1). The most reliable full stop. The best base to start with for autox. The funnest to drive on the street (yes seriously, and I've driven all of them). The most functional car/life companion of them all (cavernous hatch, best back seats, best gas milage, most fun on the street). 1982 Motortrend Import Car of the Year too btw (which means Car of the Year cause American stuff was crap back then), only generation to get that.

Awaiting banage also :D

It's about time. I hope they focus on the discontinued MKIV parts first. My local Supra friend bought the last V160 in all of North America a week before I priced checked one.

Now MKIV owners won't be able to post up their brand new unopened MKIV floormats and sell them for $1000...

Nismo started with the R32, then 33 and 34.

So, A70 may be first, obviously because it's better :D

It would be great if Toyota took on customer requests for previously discontinued part numbers through an online submission form of some kind. It would be up to them to decide which types of requests have the highest merit to pursue but that would be a very good way to gauge actual demand for which A70 and A80 parts are the most crucial to owners. Especially if part numbers were required on the submission form(s) then GR/Toyota's computers would automatically generate a tally for which are being most requested.

I'm being wishful but still... it would make sense to allow heritage car customers to ask and generate parts request statistics in such a way.
