She probably meant it was me then, although she mistakenly assumed that I was a mechanic. Are you looking for a Launch Edition?

Thanks.
Yeah either white or black launch edition is my 2 first color choices. But I haven’t heard anything from her yet :(

I thought so, but how much tax is there in the US, 10% 20%?
So sales tax depends on state, city, and county. Mine is 7%, my parents live 45 min away and theirs is 4% but the big city near me is 8.1%.(and for example, Oregon has NO sales tax for residence)

And In my state we must pay Annual registration fees on top of that based on state law. In my state it’s about 2% of msrp for the first year. And then goes down .1%/year after that. But there are states that charge a flat rate of $25/year lucky bastards lol

So for me, the Supra would cost msrp of $55kish, plus dealer handling of probably $500-$1000, plus taxes of $4kish plus $1500ish/first year registration. So all combined around $61k-$62k without a dealer markup.

Thank you very much. So the supra is a lot cheaper on an other continent then the one it is produced on.... very frustrating.
Correct, from what I’ve seen it’s like $5k-10k cheaper on average from other continents. Not sure why but I assume it’s due to competitive pricing the car to get sales higher in the states since we have lots of higher powered American made sports cars for cheaper. But no idea really. Just an assumption

Looks like this isn't uncommon...

Base m2 competition: USA 58.900$ = 52.000€
GER 61.900€ = 70.000$

It's the same with other manufacturers... Europeans get raped :(

Here is an even cheaper tax and registration. In my state (Ohio) and county (Franklin), the sales tax is 7.5% and the annual registration is a flat $55. There is no safety inspection and there is no emission check which cost additional.

US is one of the cheapest countries, if not *THE* cheapest, to buy a car.

One of the new-car sales managers told me today that the actual date of the ship docking at NJ port has been updated to today date.

Here's hoping we get to hear something from the east coast dealers soon.

The whole goal of this July 22nd release at once thing is so all dealers have a car...so once we can confirm 1,499 cars are stateside it’s safe to say the end is very very near.

Would it be wrong to speculate 750 and some change on West & East Coast ports respectively initially? How many damn cars can one of these freight shipping boats from Austria hold at a time? I feel a reliable insider whose working the manifests should be able to provide a pretty clear snap shot of what’s actually happening. Just sayin. Find da man dammit.

So much anticipation and impatience.

If you're "in contract" with a Toyota dealership, a sales manager is able to see the status of your Supra in Dealer Daily. The information is not detailed and could lag behind maybe a day or so, but by today, there should be an update. Like I have mentioned previously, the status now has an actual date of the ship at the dock and it's on schedule.

I have no clue about the carrying capacity of the ship.
