No. But they claim they know they're getting a white one. So I think they may be jerking me around.
I would just double check to see if they are finessing you. Because the dealer that I went to had me fill out the reservation form, and on it they had me fill out a section for color option (White, Black, or Red). And I filled out White and they told me to choose one more color in case white is not available so I chose my secondary option as red. I don't know about other dealerships, but at least for mine they can't GUARANTEE a color but they said they will try to get white.

I was gonna pay cash, pay it off in one fell swoop. I have a case number, and they're willing to talk to their representatitive there at the dealership to make it right. So if need be, I have a solution to if they try and screw me over.

Did they take a deposit? If not, even being first on the list generally doesn't hold much sway with dealers; especially if they're already priming for a bidding war. Also, my experience is paying "cash" can actually be a disincentive for the dealer. You're likely to have a bit more leverage if you promise to finance the car through them. You could try offering to go through the approval process now (and hopefully get them to take a deposit) so that things are already locked in. You can always pay the loan off in full after the fact. I'm not aware of any prime lenders charging early pay off fees, so your out of pocket is the same either way.

If this is true, what does this mean for the July 22 timeline? We might get cars before then?
No idea, I think they are in-process of getting them out to the lots, some dealers will get them prior to the 22nd however, who knows if they will sell them before then...

Perhaps they will refuse to sell them until the 22nd in order to have some big “Launch Day” (see what I did there).

I would think dealerships wouldn’t mind holding them til the 22nd....rope them off in the lobby, get people interested...

I am just spit-balling..there has to be someone on here that knows....

I've been trying ro get them.to take a deposit, but they're not interested, apparently. Might be because I'm not financing.

I might actually get a base model because I didn't think the A/V Option would add carplay. This is a great find, thank you! I really want wireless apple car play and this confirms its possible to do it with a base + the option.

Also: man they trying to tax Yellow?

If they're refusing a deposit then I'm guessing they're gearing up for a bidding war. :bat:

It is also interesting that a Base Model with both Options is cheaper than a premium. I live in a hot climate so those heated seats got me like -_-

You still will not get leather seats, HUD and the larger rear brakes

That’s such BS. I wish there were laws against mark ups from MSRP.
Agreed. I think I need to speak to the sales manager. If he won't assist, then back to Toyota USA. It's shady as hell to do this kinda stuff.

Dealers will always play whatever games they can to benefit their bottom line. There were dealers tacking on 10-15k "market adjustments" on Civic Type-R's upon release. I'm a capitalist so I can't really fault them at a fundamental level.

Considering TMNA is encouraging the game:

You may have to continue to dealer shop until you can find one that will take a deposit and draft a purchase contract.
