Car(s)
2021 3.0 Supra
MF: .00145
Residual: 60% for 10k miles

Not sure residual for higher mileage cap.
Toyota leasing program could be better as they tend to offer high residuals but also with higher MF

I don't know much about how they arrive at the payment amount, but based on your numbers could you tell me what a lease payment would be with 5000 down? Trying to decide if I am going to buy or lease. I am leaning towards buying. Thanks!

I'm not sure this is the kind of car you lease. Is there a reason you're leaning towards leading?

I'm leasing. Just because I cant wait for manual/faster one to come out. then in 3 years after I've driven the shit out of it and got that out of my system I can return it and grab the better model and baby it and not abuse it haha

That is a great idea! Now I definitely need to find out what a lease will cost.

This is the exact reason to possibly lease the first year.

That makes a lot of sense. But when making your comparison and decision, try to do it with $0 down. It's never advisable to put money down on a lease(except maybe a refundable deposit). I have a feeling this car wont depreciate much compared to other cars in its class.

I’m late but the lease numbers aren’t great unless you can get a discount/ rebate you’ll be looking at $810/mo with 0 down per tax https://leasehackr.com/calculator

With $5000 down that’s about $610 per month before tax. https://leasehackr.com/calculator

For comparison: an M340i at 57k MSRP is $539month before MSDs and with $2000 drive off. MSDs would take it to $499/month

Still waiting for the official Toyota lease numbers but at $800 a month I wouldn’t pull the trigger. People are swooping up M4 CSs for that price

It all comes down to rebates/discount. A year from now you’ll be able to get a Supra for $4-5k off and that’ll change the math up. I’m actually thinking of getting a 330i and driving that for a year and picking up a second model year Supra

Leasing has big tax advantages if you’re a business owner so it makes the overall cost cheaper. That being said, if the lease numbers suck(like the BMW M2) then you are correct still doesn’t make no sense to lease

Thanks for the information, and yeah I guess this car will not be a good candidate for a lease. No way we are going to get a discount on a Launch edition car. So you buy now, or walk away and wait a year or two for better prices and potentially good lease deals.

We’ll have a final verdict in July once Toyota announces their own lease residuals and MF for the Supra. I’m also really curious to see how the demand is actually going to be for this car

Has anyone hear if there's leasing options for the Supra?

I'm not a huge fan of buying first gen cars.. had enough issue with the 350Z and Evo X.. I'm considering leasing a Supra if possible for a few years until Gen2 comes out.

Thanks
