Hmm I'm trying to understand all this. I am told there is only 3500 coming this year to the u.s. Are the vins not a European vin in toyotas system? I am also told that toyota may be borrowing some tooling to work on these things.

the higher power model is apparently coming sooner vs later as the bmw insider noted, at least according to some of the people I asked (these were US connections though so I do trust it less than my usual). that said, credit where credit is due if true as I thought it would be later on (say two years after release)..

Are we talking like before the end of the year or early next year?

No manuals.

BTW I'm selling the Supra hard to my wife right now. The lack of MT is a huge hit against the car in her view too. But I think waiting for the better motor will not be as rewarding as driving this car one year sooner.

Now if only there was one to test drive somewhere in our neighborhood...

From a tuning stand point, would it be wise to wait for the better motor?

So earliest would be July 22, 2020 ;)

Wonder what the "Supra S" would do that a simple ECU flash wouldn't, besides warranty and a color besides black for the interior :banghead:

thats what im thinkin, probably a ecu flash can attain the same power if not with a few supporting mods.

My question is, are they not technically already putting out those kind of numbers at the crank? Have there been any Z4s dynod directly beside a mkv yet? Curious to know if they actually already make about the same power or is the theory that both manufacturers will be releasing "stronger" versions

The Z4 makes about exactly how much more you'd expect from the claimed figures.
