Where the Supra stands out over the Cayman is in the sounds department. For sure the Supra has a more exciting and a better soundtrack than the Cayman. I remember Tetsuya Tada once said that he’s disappointed with the sound of the 4-cylinder engine in the Cayman.

The Supra is built on a different platform, has a stiffer chassis, has a shorter wheelbase, and is lighter than a M2 so that's why the M2's flaws are getting more apparent now. It's a better drivers car than the M2...BMW's current best M car.

Autocar in the UK tested the same 3 cars - supra came out on top here too.
Having driven the supra and the M2. Supra Def felt sportier, though M2 sounds better. Cayman with the 4 pot turbo just doesn't sit right.
What the supra really needs is a better exhaust noise.

And a shame that these comparisons use the euro spec because by all accounts the us spec exhaust is straight roarty

Sadly we have laws that are designed to kill all the fun and have anaemic cars.
I asked the product manager if they would release upgrades for customer, he said potentially in the US and Japan, but unlikely in the UK due to emission laws.

In the US, the Supra sounds so much better than the m2. Especially the 2020 car. It’s actually impressive how aggressive they were able to get with all the emissions stuff. With a catless dp, that thing is actually obnoxious lol.
