Not a chance I'd pay MSRP or over; 10-15% below MSRP out the door and we're playing ball on new vehicles.

I called dealerships this morning outside the Houston area. All want 70k-80k for the car but none have deposits on the first, just a lot of interest. Bet once that car has sat at the showroom floor for 2 weeks they might let them go at msrp.
Same man Houston is scam central

This guy decided to show the process of trying to get a Supra Launch Edition (LE) across a bunch of dealerships in San Diego. He's been fairly transparent and the short of it is that dealers are marking up LE's up to 20k to 40k. As for some perspective, according to him the the latest Civic Type R was marked up the same during a similar situation. Let's hope premium and standard editions don't have that crazy markup.

Hey guys, got a quote from a Northern California Toyota dealer:

Supra: $58330.00
Ceramic tint: 895.00
Lummar: 2495.00 a clear bra on the front half of the Supra

After market:

Wheels $3495.00 you will receive the original wheels/tires
Lojack 695.00
Dent 895.00 it covers dents for 5 years(up to a credit card size)

Total $66805 plus tax/lic fees.

Apparently this dealer is going to do a first come first serve situation. What do you guys think of this markup?

$3500 for wheels??? otherwise it comes with what, no wheels? besides the lojack I would not pay for any extras including the markup on the car. I have no problem waiting a little extra time

To be fair, this isn't much of a markup if that is an LE with the driver assistance package which is around $56,500. Atleast they are actually giving you something tangible with the extra expense instead of adding $X,000 additional because 'we have it and you want it' type of thing. A lot of people may actually prefer this because they can roll these things into their car payment (although that is a poor decision in my book but better than paying 18%-26% APR for those items with a credit card)

I don’t agree with putting aftermarket wheels on this car. The wheels are already amazing! IMO many aftermarket wheels look cheap and unrefined.

If anyone wants a white launch edition at $5K over, I will get you the dealers info. Just PM me.

I’m not interested as I’m paying MSRP for my red one.

Colonial Toyota in Milford CT is asking $20k over MSRP for a red Launch. They’ve had it on the floor for 8 days, *supposedly* got an offer of $68k, but had at least two people come in, start working out a deal...and then bail on it.

After chasing a black one for a month, markup (5k+) wasn’t an issue. I got a 3.0 Premium from a local dealer. Traded the 86, and am quite happy.
