Have money down for a White Supra LE. Went and test drive the LC 500 and loved it. Having second thoughts about the Supra now. Should I get a Supra LE? Maybe someday it'll be a collector. I always wanted one as a child or should get the Lexus LC 500 which is really niceee? Any suggestions?

You sound like a guy who can easily afford both. As much as I like the new Supra, I would pick the LC 500 all day, any day. That car simply leaves you in awe. I saw a LC 500 Inspiration Series and I was blown away into another dimension. It was that mind-blowingly special and it is the kind of car that makes the buyer feel special too. It's a spectacular luxury coupe in terms of design, materials, and literally everything else you can think of, while being extremely capable in a performance testing. It handles, it sounds great, has a sexy V8 paired with a crisp and smooth 10-Speed automatic.

As much as the MkV Supra is an amazing car, there is absolutely no doubt that I would buy a LC 500 over it.

Yes, the struggle is real.
For me, I'm a Supra enthusiast. So Supra it is.
SpyAgent buy what you want, but no matter what you choose, you may second guess yourself.
The LC 500 is HOT and I struggled with this same decision but Supra wins for me. But would be jealous of your LC if I saw it.
Your answer might boil down to passion vs desire!

Are you looking to take your car on spirited back road drivers and race track? Do you plan on modifying your car performance wise? Will you be commuting in the car?

If you answered yes those questions then get the Sports Car: Supra. Otherwise the LC will suit you best as it is a Grand Touring car and a lot more comfortable and luxurious

LC 500 is nice, but with the amount of potential after market is showing for the Supra, it will be very special car
for me ill choose what my passion tells me regardless of how do i look when someone sees me, easily the Supra
i was so close buying Ferrari F12, and my brother kept sending me messages on how eh struggle with Ferrari before, i though ah okay, its super car, i like it but Supra is my passion

If I were you, I would take the Supra.

I had a similar decision to make back in the day: used MKIV Supra or slightly used Lexus GS400.

I picked the GS400:eek:

Iā€™m gonna give you the context though: Back then, the MKIV was not the legend that it is today. It did not have the value that actually appreciated (rather than depreciate like 99.9% of cars do). the car was relatively affordable.

The GS400 was an absolute beast. This was the first Lexus sedan to match and exceed the performance of the Germans. Faster than any BMW or Mercedes 4 door sedan back when it came out! It was a weird world because the MKIV probably had the same status as a Nissan 300zx does today, while the GS400 was almost magical! Here was a Lexus 4 door sedan who could hang with the best. The only thing faster than a GS400 was a Ferrari, Corvette, manual LS1 equipped f-body, or the newly released e46 m3. LS1 car (in fact, I have beaten stock auto equipped f-bodies cars on the street, but thatā€™s something off topic)

Now, the LC500 is beautiful, has 2 doors and has a lot going for it, and the Supra is vastly different than what it was back then. But whenever I see a Supra vs. Lexus topic, I think back to my decision back in the day. A nice low mileage GS400 today can be had for what, $5,000?

I wonā€™t even mention the MKIV value today, it would just make me depressed. Thatā€™s not to say I didnā€™t enjoy my GS400. Itā€™s just that in the long run, the after market really took the Supra to the next level, along with several mitigating factors that may or may not apply to the MKV.

I know itā€™s different cars and different time period. We could write a whole book on why it was different. But as someone in those shoes back in the day, I would get the Supra and not look back:yes:

I owned a RC F along with my 86. They are two different animals. My 86 is so fun to daily but the RC F was just such a great cruiser, made me feel like Matthew McConaughey in those commercials lol alright, alright, alright

One is almost 2 times the cost of the other. One is an athlete, the other is a supermodel. How do you even compare the two?

I think you can't go wrong with either. LC deserves more love than it gets. No one's buying them.

The use case between these is so far apart... Either way, I think Powaup summed up my feelings, only that for commuting I'd possibly take the LC (gas mileage is a factor, but if you already paid 100k+ then you probably dont care).

If i were you, I'd pick the LC because
1)it has a nice interior
2)it has backseats(that aren't suited for claustrophobics)
3)it has NA V8, along with forgiving maintenance costs
As a warning, be prepared for spindle grille comments

The LC500 will be a collector car one day, the MKV Supra will not

I'm kind of in the same boat but with a used rcf or gsf. Lc500 maybe someday out of my price range atm though from what I've seen.

Supra needs to become available quick! Being tempted by other cars.

As background info...Iā€™ve owned a couple MKIV Supraā€™s, also an ISF and GSF and now drive an LC500. Iā€™ve also sat in and driven next to a new Supra but have never driven one myself.

My opinion is ā€œit dependsā€ :)

- interior LC by a mile but the Supra felt much much nicer than I expected in person. Seats hug you well and you pretty much wear the car as it wraps around you. Dash layout is nice. LC interior is the nicest thing Iā€™ve owned though, and that includes M5, Panamera, etc.

- exterior: LC has an exotic look to it but Supra looks amazing in person. Itā€™s all bulky, wide and bubbly. A little drop, some aggressive wheels and it will look incredible. Personal preference here but I could live with both.

- if you plan to mod, pick the Supra. Not a good market or options for LC. RR Racing ā€œmayā€ come out with SC for it, but at $10k+, more options and value for mods on Supra

- intent of car: if you plan to track it: Supra. If you want a super luxury fun daily car: LC. Itā€™s a very heavy car but surprisingly fun around town.

- transmission: both auto but if the Supra 8sp Auto is anything like ISF, RCF or GSF, then LC for sure. The LC 10sp is closest to PDK that Iā€™ve felt in an automatic. Hated the GSF sluggish shifts but could have just been programming.

Deal breaker for me was back seat since I sometimes have to throw my kids back there in case my wife gets stuck at work. Itā€™s rare but strapping them to the roof of Supra was not an option.

I may eventually pick up a supra as a weekend toy on top of LC, but cars serve a completely different purpose.

Good luck

LC is a beautiful car no doubt. I see them all the time in VA and DC but Supra is where my heart it. Supra was the car I wanted when I was a broke college student and so that was my stone. And now that I have a chance, hell will freeze before I buy another car
