Lmao. Other than his comment that Japanese cars have flaws that give them their personality, he hasn't displayed anything that he knows about Japanese cars. He doesn't even have experience with Toyotas. So who is he to judge? Everyone who knows Toyotas, know that this has a similar experience and feel to other Toyota vehicles as well. I'm waiting for this video to also get shat on by other automotive YouTubers and individuals, also the internet as well.

He's completely on point and honest.

I get his argument when he explains it. It’s good logic, But I still think he’s a little biased towards other brands.

The car is a bit confusing. I support cool cars, and so I'm relatively on board with it anyway. His points are completely valid, but are quite subjective and will therefore cause some disagreement for sure. I happen to agree with him on a lot of his points, but am happy to look past it because I still like the car (even if I don't like some of its underlying elements or the path it took to get here).

I also still think Toyota had more involvement in the development of the B58TU than either Toyota or BMW will disclose, but that's pure speculation with basis only in personal experience.

He sort of dogs the MKIV too. Just with all car reviewers, take it humor and a grain of salt. I wish the A110 was available in the U.S.

A stock A80 is nothing ground breaking. Cool and fun, yes, but not out of this world.
At the time of it's introduction I'd contend that it was pretty great. Unmodified now in the context of the automotive landscape we live in? Not so much.

Yeah, the MKIV was great in it's era just like all of the sports cars of their generation. That's the beauty of automotive evolution. However, it's apples to oranges when to comparing old vs new.

Your "Supra" exists. It's just not called a Supra. It's in the same family as the IS-F (IS300), RC-F (SC300) and it's called the LC500 (Supra). All three run the 2UR-GSE which was co-developed by Yamaha and all of them are around the 72-78k price range either new or used with relatively low miles. This is what a pure Toyota built modern Supra would be.

The Land Cruiser had an inline 6 as well, now it's only offered with V8s (V6 in some countries) and the next generation will get Twin Turbo V6s. The RC/LC will move from V8s to TT V6s too.

You can see why Toyota didn't want to create your version of the Supra just by looking at how the RC/LC sales are doing. At $20-30k less for the same performance, the A90 will sell like hot cakes compared to those two.

If I were you, I'd get a used LC and slap a Toyota/Supra badge on it and call it a day.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Have you seen the mark-ups on these cars? You can buy the LC500 for about the same price as the new Supra. Here in Alaska, where sports cars can be driven 3-4 months tops, they have a $25K mark-up! I called to inquire and the grand total after their "dealer" mark-up is a whopping $85K
