Some of us got lucky with good dealerships. No markup.
A blessing. I'm excited for you first gen guys, especially the ones getting it at MSRP (or claiming, you never know.) Can't wait to see the delivery videos and customer feedback about the car.

I swear if my dealer who says they are selling the LE at MSRP tries to back out on me.......especially after already trading in my car. It will escalate quickly. There's been no signs of this happening yet so I guess that's encouraging. Hopefully just a few more weeks until I find out.

A red one just went unsold on ebay that the starting price was 60,800 with no reserve. Something tells me the demand for the car is not there.

I think the dealers were excited about the first one that sold for 2.1 million. What they don't understand is that money was raised for charity.

People are saying this is a BMW, yet when it's time to pay up people are saying who dafuk is going to pay 60k (with taxes) for a Toyota? Let's be realistic, outside of this group, who da hell is going to pay 60k for a two seater Toyota? I'll give it a year and I will be able to snatch one for 45k as I laugh at these fools at the dealership as I drive away.

the demand to pay over msrp is not there.
The difference between an LE and 3.0 isn't enough to justify begging a dealer to sell it to me at MSRP. I really would like an LE but I'll have the same experience driving and maintaining a 3.0 for the next however many years should that be what I end up with (plus the extra money I wouldn't have forked over).

So here is the news from Dallas on the new 2020 Supra. I got call from one of the local dealers since i am on their list for the launch edition. I was told that this particular dealer is charging $50K markup for a Launch Edition and $15K on a premier. This is outright ridiculous and shows how greedy toyota dealers are. You guys can guess what was my reply to the salesperson when i was told this.
Anyone in any other big city has heard from their local toyota dealer and what kind of markup they are adding to the sticker price.

It's not just Toyota dealers. Its any dealer that is selling a limited and hyped car.

Thing is though - they can price it at what they want, what they actually sell it for is the real issue.

These are GT3's with a huge wealthy fanbase who are willing to spend 50% over list price on them, so this is nothing more than chancing their arm. Id be surprised if they made more than 10% on anything.

In the UK they are all being sold through Toyota to customers directly, the dealerships have nothing to do with the process bar handover. Be interested to see how many of the 300 in the UK go online for sale, and for how much.

You guys are lucky to not live in Norway... "who da hell is going to pay 60k for a two seater Toyota?" well... MSRP here in Norway is approx $110 000 (USD)...

Very high toll/fees on everything that has to do with cars.
