You mentioned that each dealer will have 1 supra tech. I assume it's reasonable that you meant "at least" and it's likely many techs at each dealer will be certified in the new hotness for fun/personal growth/redundancy?

EDIT: Are a decent chunk of techs doing this or is it in the minority? Would hate to have 3-4 supras on the lot waiting on 1 tech
For now at least 1, I'm sure more will come along the way, I'd hate to have multiple cars waiting as well for one guy.

im surprised that Toyota didn't just make a deal with BMW to service this car at their stealership.

What are the chances of my warranty being voided if I bring in the car for service and it has bolt-on mods? (intercooler, tune, suspension exhaust... stuff like that)
0% your warranty can never be voided. (U.S.A) If you went in for a warranty claim on X part failing, Toyota would then have to have a valid case and prove that modifications contributed to part Xs failure. Obviously for things like a failure anywhere in the powertrain or drivetrain things like a tune can be sited as the cause 100% of the time because the car is no longer in the "as delivered configuration". If your steering wheel breaks obviously that claim cannot be denied because you have an aftermarket exhaust. Moral of the story if something breaks, do yourself a favor and return all associated parts to OEM.

+1 on the post above me, the part that fails must be typically due to the aftermarket component that was installed. So unless the two are related to one another or has anything to deal with the cause, then you'll be fine.

Hello guys! I'm 27 and would have loved to of had the chance to buy a 90s import car when they first came out. I was barely even 9yrs old yet when we got to the year 2000 and you can't get these kinds of cars at that age. I understand the some of older generation of car owners dislike this new supra since it's not purely Toyota, but for us younger generations it's a chance to own something close to the original icons! It's definitely a better alternative for us who would like a newer sports car instead of buying a car some one else could have abused already. I would've eventually liked to get a Lexus IS350 or BMW 3 series back around 2008, but I never would've thought they would partner up to bring back the supra! In my opinion I think it's a great opportunity for people that just enjoy cars.

Hi folks - supraforums member and long time MKIV owner. Sold my Supra years ago, and have missed it dearly and glad to be coming back into the fold. Anxiously awaiting a Red LE that should be here in the next few weeks. Will put some older and newer pics up soon once I dig them off another computer :)

Pete S. here in Southern New England.

I've owned lots of performance cars since my first in 1986.

My first experience with Toyota was the 1980 Corolla I purchased in 1988 as a dedicated commuter car. Just two years out of engineering school, money was tight.

The Corolla used a Hemi head 4 cylinder. Despite having rolled over the odometer and owning a then new 5.0 LX Mustang notchback at the time, I was surprised by the Corolla's acceleration. While hardly fast, it was always responsive.

The car understeered horribly.

I had a set of gas struts/shocks installed in it (on sale at Sears) and then mounted a massive ADCCO rear anti-roll bar at the rear, in addition to mounting a new set of Pirellis at all four corners. The handling improvement was stunning, with the ADDCO bar making the single greatest difference.

I traded that in for a new 1990 Toyota pickup (just one main model back then with no names). It had zero factory options and I paid $6,495 for it brand new. I quickly installed KYB gas shocks at all four corners in addition to some inexpensive 14" X 7" American Racing Wheels shod with new Pirellis all around. Even my car enthusiast pals "couldn't believe" how well that truck handled, and how supportive the seemingly simply, vinyl covered bench seat was in terms of general comfort. I got 80K miles out of that one before selling it. I loved that truck for what it was.

I haven't owned a Toyota since and am presently driving a 2018 VW GTI Autobahn.

I'm planning on retiring at the end of the year, keeping the GTI and buying a new Supra. I just love the car. I see people bashing it on the various "enthusiast" sites because it's "not a real Toyota" and doesn't run 11 second quarter miles. I think these folks are seriously misguided.

From a now long term mechanical design engineer's perspective, I think the new Supra is spectacular, having closest check out and sat in my fist this past weekend.

I'll be ordering mine (likely in a premium model in "downshift blue) once initial demand tapers and I can buy it for a couple of grand over invoice.

Hi everybody! Ryan in Atlanta. I have always been interested in German vehicles and this will be my foray into Japanese cars sort of. I currently have a 2017 GTI 6MT that I love. Iā€™ve been super interested in the Supra for a few months now. After seeing reviews for the car Iā€™ve become obsessed and that only became even more of an obsession after seeing the car in person. I hope to grab a Downshift Blue premium and Iā€™m on a waitlist at a dealer. Canā€™t wait for the car!

A weird trend Iā€™ve noticed is that there seem to be quite a few Mk7 Golf owners buying a Supra.
