I just got the paperwork FedEx'd to me and the odometer statement has 120 miles! They ( dealer) claims that is exactly what they got from Toyota and there was extended testing and drives at the port.

My GT3 had 51 miles on it and I had a letter from the Porsche Testing grounds stating they drove it 50 miles at high speeds etc. This seems absurd.

Mine had 9 as well. After PDI, sensor calibration, etc. was up to 21 with my acknowledgement.

I'm no expert, but driving 120 miles in a port seems excessive :)
Unless somehow your car was the guinea pig for many calibration/tuning activities.

They are sticking to the claim the car came to them with the miles. They said they would refund my money if I am not happy.

Jesus, why are dealers so slimy.

Let's be clear, it's a car dealer, their reputation is always guilty until proven innocent. Is 100 miles a huge deal? no, but the trust is and I just do not believe them. Maybe the owner took it home or the like. It just infuriates me they are saying they got the car this way from the port. I am wondering when the car was initially plugged in to remove delivery mode if it recorded the miles it arrived in. Maybe too much trouble for them but I wired full payment and they get to refund me if I am not happy.

This is why I hate all of this ADM which forced me out of state to begin with. I don't even know what I want, perhaps just shaking my fist at God for a minute.

So they sent this

Sorry for the slow response been with a customer

When I looked at the miles I was shocked as you are.

We run tight ship here nobody drove a car here

This was a bonus car I found out that TOYOTA gave us that we were not allocated for.

So maybe some VIPs drove it at the port is all we can think of.

it was wrapped tight in plastic when it got here
100%

But to answer your question yes I would refund your credit card and we would l
Wire your money back if you decide you do not want this one

There’s not an apology on the car it’s perfect the paint is perfect everything is perfect

Except for 141 miles

I got a text from my salesman yesterday that they completed the PDI process and ready for me to pick up this Saturday. He said they had to drive it to get it out of transport mode and it has 9 miles on the odometer and it's back in the showroom

Aaaand this is why I'm hoping that dealerships eventually go away. With technology nowadays, it's so much easier to just go and select the options you want online and order something yourself. The first dealership I went to in person to order a Supra didn't even know that there were 3 different kinds of the car, and he pulled up some special dealer ordering screen that was allowing me to select stuff like yellow exterior with red interior. I was like "are you sure you can order it like this? I'm pretty sure red interior only comes with the white or black launch edition versions of the car..." and he just gave me a confused look. If the salespeople don't even know basic things like that about the products they're supposed to be selling / representing, what's even the point of a dealership?

Unfortunately this is what we have to deal with in the US. Capitalism and Toyota's biggest market...

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I've been feeling that for a while now. Rarely, do I go to a dealership and the sales people know much about the cars. Granted, not all sales people are car people, but it upsets me they don't know much more about the products asides from the sticker price.

I'm not the biggest fan of Tesla, but I like their build to order process. Takes out a lot of the dealership BS.

Yeah - my hope is that as more people come to realize how great it is, more companies will start to adopt it and this will start killing off dealerships that don't add value just as many big box stores are starting to die off as a result of e-commerce. (I'm all for physical stores, but there needs to be a little more competition to incentive them to actually do a good job / not try to rip people off.)
