@ 10:21, I'm just imagining all the DIY newbies and Toyota Techs breaking what appears to be, the reverse threaded oil pump sprocket wheel bolt. years from now I'm sure this will be fun to laugh at. I'm sure that pump probably isnt cheap.

This is the proof of what the mkv will be. 3 weeks after you can buy the car and you already have a great full parts teardown and explanation. Usually takes years before this info hits the public. F'ing incredible. Long live the Supra.

Yeah, because we have never seen that engine before, or never heard anything about it. And of course it's never been tuned in the previous two years.... :rolleyes1:

Any of you more mechanically inclined enthusiasts be able to provide some thoughts or comments? Is this the reliable power unit we have been asking for?

wow...i ma glad toyota partner with bmw for this car. they know exactly what they are doing to the car. all parts refined and also forged materials and closed deck. this supra has alot of potentials. i think 500 whp is still nothing for this engine.

Now let me see if I can find some of my old posts when "some people" made fun when I said the bottom-end will be 1000hp capable....:p:D.

Ahhh here it is...

Yeah? Based on what, exactly? Please be technical and specific.

I'll stand firmly with my quoted assessment, considering any possible shred of credibility you might have had with some people has long since been completely eroded.

So please, take this opportunity to redeem yourself and edify the community on your technical analysis of the B58 and it's power-holding capability. I'm especially interested in TQ and RPM limitations.

The floor is yours:

That block "girdle" or windige tray around 10:45 they speak of, looks like it could possibly help keep vibration down and keep the bottom block more ridged. of course purely speculative but they mentioned how beefy and heavy it was, so its not hard to make that leap. the b58 being inline 6 with less vibration than a v configured engine with this add on "girdle" seems like a huge win for this motor.

I am actually looking forward to see once this engine platform has been torn apart and plenty of mods for it are supported, that people start putting these in MK3's and MK4's.
