Anyone familiar with this company, or this type of piggyback device?

https://www.vividracing.com/tuned-e...upra-mkv-b58-30l-turbo-335hp-p-152546028.html

$600 for a plug and play, removable, 100hp, 100ft/lb bump seems a little too good to be true?

On motorcycles, piggyback engine management is common; Bazzaz and DynoJet hardware is a dime-a-dozen on club racing bikes. I just don't have enough experience with car tuning to know if this is viable.

Not sure about this product. But BMW engines have always had piggybacks that gave decent gain. Ie JB4 for n54 engines.

Thanks, good to hear that the idea isn't a bad one, at least.

I don't have any experience with them but on the 86 forum, there is a post that says avoid Vivid racing at all costs.
I'll just quote you the punchline
Avoid Vivid/AP at all costs. They are the same company and they are known to rip people off with parts that are crap. They are banned on most major Subaru forums. Why they havent on these forums after the whole dyno fiasco is beyond me

Like with any review, there are people who've had great experience vs bad.. I'm just posting this as I remembered reading this post a while back and wanted to give you heads up. FYI

[edit] As I don't want to misinform you, I looked at their FB page. 4.0/5.0 out of 488 people. Your decision :)

Thanks for the info. I'm on ft86 also, maybe I'll poke around there.

I'm not ready to be an early adopter with regards to tuning solutions for the Supra, anyway. I'm just curious about options. I'll wait til someone ELSE vets an add on, easy to remove(no warranty voiding) tuning solution that gives a fair bump without any hard parts replacement. :D

People are already tuning with Bootmod3 which is a well-established solution on the F-chassis BMW platforms.

Thanks. Iā€™ll have to read up on bootmod3. Iā€™m more inclined to prefer a solution that allows me to restore back to a factory tune, in case I need to for warranty work. Bonus points if I can confirm that a dealer wouldnā€™t be able to see that the ECU was ever flashed. Thatā€™s why my inclination is towards piggyback units.

They will always be able to tell if the ECU has been flashed.

Iā€™ve done business with vivid in the past on other Vehicles and always had good experiences . I was aware of their VR tuned box , only decided to go with Titans tune because they are so ingrained with the Supra , but Iā€™m sure itā€™s OK

I would avoid Vivid Racing. I literally had a legal issue arise from dealing with them in the past.
