Ok so I basically walked into showroom shook salesman hand and drove off within hour. I’d didnt test drive etc.

How do you use launch control? What are the driving modes? Traction controls? Stability controls? Etc

I looked for videos and guides but didn’t see anything readily available.

Thanks.

All the relevant information will be in your owner's manual. There's a lot of good info in there.

I tried to do launch control for the first time today (as now I am over 1,200 miles) and can’t get it to work.

Yes, yes, I have read the directions in the owners manual, several times....

Car was warmed up, in “d,” sport mode on, traction-off button pressed, left foot on brake, other foot on gas...back wheels start to spin and rpms aren’t limited at all....:dunno:

Any launch control experts out there?

Press the brake as hard as you can, it needs to read basically 100% pedal pressure before engaging launch control. Make sure you're pinning the gas all the way too, and you'll see the Launch Control indicator in your gauge cluster. Also launch control sucks, it launches at like 2k. Generally faster to do it yourself.

Have fun! Be safe!

Got it thanks, that must have been it, gonna have to give it another try.

Ya, without being a DCT, I assume it is nothing more than the car holding the brakes on at 2k rpm and releasing them...

Thanks for the info.

Edit: It worked, I just needed to push the brake pedal harder. Yes, you are correct the launch control is pretty weak. Thanks again.

BMW M2 vs A90.. Stupid F%^ing Launch Control.. Anyone else having issues?

Hey folks,

So I took the GR out to the strip and had major issues with my launch control.

It worked fine on the street, but one thing I wasn't doing on the street was a staging burnout, so I wonder if that was a contributor.

1) LC doesn't work in Manual mode, so my first run was complete balls.

2) Half of the time, the LC just flatly refused to work. It would say it was engaged and then when it would come to the actual launch it would just bake the tyres and then shift into 2nd and almost stop before picking up again and going. This resulted in a high 13s 1/4mi.

3) After 3 previous launches, the last run it all SEEMED to be working properly, no errors, and the alert came up saying "Launch Control", but instead of holding the car at 2000rpm, it went to 2000 then quickly just dropped to idle, and then LC would turn off and just go into normal driving mode.

So my night at the strip was almost wasted.

I managed to get one run where it worked, and got a 12.5@111mph, which was 0.2s faster than the M2.

Still annoying.

Anyone else have issues?
