So of course my car came while I was on vacation and the delivery company had the nerve to ship it coast to coast in 3 days instead of the agreed upon 9! However I had a friend house sitting and he took delivery and placed in garage.

First, love the car. It seems almost as fast as my stock RS3 and can I believe hang with my GT3 in a straight line for awhile, this is of course based on a 2 mile drive.

My dealer sucks. They forgot to include any paperwork, my rear mat and CF mirror caps. Also my Navigation says it needs to be activated by a code and USB device, I imagine this was another mis-stepped by these guys. Also. weird, my manuals came loose in the glove box...am I the only one?

The owner of the dealership has a nice email awaiting him in the morning.

Love the car, I was worried about Downshift Blue a little but I love it and so does everyone that has seen it.

My navigation system is not actives either so I have to go to dealership that sold my car (I bought it out of town). Apparently only dealership that sold your car can active it since itā€™s VIN specific.

Congrats!!
Amazing that you got delivery of Premium while people are still waiting for LE's. So weird of Toyota.

Toyota needs to learn a thing or two. Surely it's manufactured in another country, but I just watched another C8 video. They have the car in dealers all over with all sample colors, etc. You get to sit in it and make informed decisions about the trim/color... comes with track ready displays etc.
I love my car but it could have been more. I'd gladly pay extra for added features. Still don't know what that empty space in the screen where the hidden menu is at, supposed to do normally..

Anyhow what I wanted to say was, I was considering DownShift blue as well as the grays, but with only the few online pictures, I couldn't gamble. Didn't want too dark.

In other posts, someone had mentioned you can't get activation code over weekend and you've to call and it takes 3 hours or something.. mine stayed at the dealer 2.2 days with PDI, activation, calibration. Sucks that they forgot the CF. Weirdly mine only came with CF. Still a mystery to me.

Congrats again. Enjoy! Post pics man!

They will really be thrilled shipping my car 3k miles round trip for that! I have a feeling they will find another way.

Atleast thatā€™s what my townā€™s dealership told me. I really hope you donā€™t have to go all the way out there. Iā€™m only hour and 15 mins drive from where I bought mine. I enjoy driving her anyway so I look forward to take it back to dealership.

Let's be clear, there is no freaking way I would go 3k miles over this, they can come to me or send me a check for 10k and I will just use CarPlay ;)

This is the one downside of shopping outside your comfort zone distance wise. As a lawyer I tend not worry about this sort of thing as I am pretty decent at writing all sorts of letters.

They arent wrong. Not every toyota dealer is a supra dealer. Dealers selling the supra needed to order special (BMW tools) to do PDI and servicing on.

When I picked mine up(3.0 Premium), the nav was not activated, but they inforrmed me, and said I could come back anytime within 30 days.

When I spoke to the tech who did the PDI, he explained that when the car arrives, they need to 'register' it with BMW, and then wait for a code(presumably downloaded to a USB stick) which is necessary to program the car's nav. Since I decided to buy the car and picked it up the same day it rolled off the truck, the code hadn't arrived yet. When I went back in the next week, it took less than 30 minutes to be programmed.

I have to assume that the dealer you got yours from will just need to arrange with your local dealer to do this, even it means they have to ship the USB stick out to that dealer.

I think any dealer can activate the nav, but I continue to be baffled why this is so complicated for Toyota. I don't think they gave dealers adequate prep for the Supra or had the infrastructure in place yet. It was not a smooth launch. The fact that you are cross country doesn't even matter -- I bet the same issues could have happened if you were local.

BTW, if you are good at writing letters, post an example for us amateurs. We can always use help on strategic wording with car issues.
