We haven’t received the techy bits no. But we have been contacted today by Snapon.
They have booked to be here on the 30th to commission it so it must be imminent!!

Oh question for all the UK buyers. What was the final price you paid? Did you get charged for paint? I thought it was included in ours and we could choose whatever colour we wanted at no extra charge, but I don't remember what it said on the order page when we ordered our cars.

I took the gap and paint/wheel insurances so my total was:

OTR Price of the car = £54,000
Insurances = £1,572
Paint = £710 (This, I thought, was included in the price but sadly not!!)
Minus your deposit of £1,000
= £55,282

My dealer doesn't have the stuff to do the PDI yet either, but are apparently chasing it up. Just hope I can pick it up on the 2nd!

As for the cost I was £56,545 I think, just the price of the A90 Edition plus £50 for fuel (tight-arse dealership!) The paint on the base and Pro models are in addition to the cost, but the A90 Edition paint is included in the quoted price. They initially tried to charge me extra on top of the extra already included until I corrected them. The only free colour for the UK is the yellow if I remember right.

What was the deal with your paint/wheel insurance? My dealer hasn't mentioned anything about it but it is something I'd definitely be interested in.

Cool thanks! They offered me the Supaguard but none of the other stuff. I'll ask about the tyre and alloy and smart insurance as well. Should have got smart for the GT86, it has hundreds of stone chips, so if the Supra will be similar will be necessary!

I haven’t paid a penny other than the deposit yet. Haven’t even been asked either

When I went to visit my car, the dealer asked if I wanted finance. Nope, I'm paying cash. Ah ha the look on his face! Scruffy dressed 38 year olds in jeans and a hoody rarely drop £55k on a car so it caught him by surprise.

We sorted the final price and arranged the bank transfer details last Saturday. I put through the final payment today, as it had to be done in 3 payments due to bank restrictions.

I had the same reaction when I said didn't need finance.

I've arranged to pay the final balance next week and they've said as long as I've 2 days for it to clear before I collect that's fine.

In other news, they've said that Toyota don't want dealers doing the handover on the 1st, which is a Sunday, so it might be the Monday anyway. The dealer will chase this up with Toyota on in a couple of days and see if this is the case still.

It's getting so close now, under 2 weeks to wait!

Yeah, exactly the same here. Payment must be completed 48 hours before you can get the car. Also the same with can't handover on the 1st. I think Toyota have decided 2nd is release day for everyone.

Can anyone explain what 'Smart Insurance' and 'Supaguard' are? I think I understand the other two.

Yeah I've been told 2nd as well. Bit of a shame as Sunday would have given me all day to detail and prep, instead I've just got to rush in once I finish work. Might just coincidentally get a slight sickness bug that day hahaha

As for the 48 hours to clear etc does that count for finance deposits as well? My dealer hasn't said so and the finance is all approved and ready to go but if that is the case I don't want to turn up on the Monday, pay money and be told "ok great see you in 2 days time"!

Supaguard is a paint protection stuff that is put on the car by the dealer. Not sure if it is a film or a ceramic or just a normal sealant thing though. I think Supaguard is just a brand name.

Smart insurance is to do with scuffs and dings and stone chips. Covers you for them up to £500 for each repair and £3000 total over the time of the policy as far as I'm aware. Saves you having to go through insurance if someone opens a door into you in the car park or something. Just going from what I read in a leaflet I found online.

OH!! I think you just saved me £800 scoates. I'd booked someone in to do a ceramic coat and interior, but now I realise i have paid Toyota to do it!

I was at work and quite busy when the details for the insurances came through. Took a glance, roughly did the numbers in my head and thought OK, lets go for it. Asked for the whole package.

Just emailed my dealer for some details on what will be done. Might be just bonnet and interior for all I know. Hopefully its the whole thing and I can cancel the booking.

Definitely best to check with the dealer on what is done. I'm not sure if it is a ceramic or not. I had a quick look on the website and there wasn't a whole lot of info on what the protection actually is. They offer a sealant and wheels/interior etc too on the site, but it will likely vary place-to-place what is actually done. Hopefully you can save a bit though by not having it all done twice!

Yup, also worth checking with the ceramic guy if they will conflict in some way. I.e. the sealant from Toyota stops a ceramic coat from working or stains the paint. If it comes to it, ill ask Toyota not to do the outside and just get the interior done, then go to the 3rd party for the ceramic quote. Buying just the 3 insurances would have cost the same as the package, so I'm not really losing money either way.

Thanks for the kick up the ass to make me look into what I'd bought!

are you guys still not doing PPF? I’m literally on the verge of booking to have that and ceramic done as I really don’t want stone chips (not even sure how much it would be to repair a matte car)

don’t know whether to just go for a ceramic coat..
