Interested to see how it will work with the OEM paint finish. Let me know how it looks once it's done! If it keeps the same looks as OEM I'd be more likely to consider it.
Will do mate, i'll take photos

So I've got my car home now and over the weekend was let into the dealership's wash bay to detail the car prior to picking it up on Monday.

When I got to the car it was very dirty and had some bird droppings on the roof which was a bit concerning as if it etched in could cause issues.

I started off the detail by covering the dry car with snow foam. Deliberately did it on the dry car to hopefully allow the foam to grip more onto the particles to help drag them away from the paint as much as possible, and rinsed off the remaining foam with a pressure washer.

I then followed by spraying on Bilt Hamber Surfex HD degreaser to help cut into any film or bonded contaminants that got stuck to the paint during transporting and the few weeks it was sitting waiting for pickup.

After the degreaser I rinsed the car again with the pressure washer and applied an iron and fallout remover. This step was probably not necessary as none of the body panels reacted with the solution and the only areas that "bled" with it were the brakes. Following the fallout remover I performed the contact wash with a matte shampoo and 2 bucket method with grit guards, before a final rinse off.

I then move the car out of the wet wash bay into the dry valeting side of the building, and dried the entire car off with microfibre cloths.

After the car was dried off, I noticed that the bird poo on the roof had in fact etched into the paint, along with a few other imperfections mainly on the roof panel. I pointed these out to one of the head valet guys that was there as well just so I could show someone as proof it was there before I coated the car in case they tried to blame me! He had a look at it and told me about a method he uses on gloss paint cars to great effect, but had never tried matte. It was to take a heat gun and gently heat the panel causing the oils etc used in the paint to come back to the surface and erase the mark without needing polish. I was a bit dubious of how it would work but had nothing to lose. Tried it out and it worked brilliantly! All but the worst etched area came away (unfortunately didn't get a before/after).

Once the imperfections were removed I used Gyeon Prep solution followed by Gyeon Matte Ceramic to ceramic coat the car, and Gyeon Rim for the wheels. I just left the wheels on for this stage as I was about 5 hours in and couldn't be bothered jacking up the car to remove them! Finished off with the generic tyre dressing that is used by the garage.

And the finished result!

How are you cleaning the inside of the wheels without taking them off?

I have a wire Woolley but think that might damage the paint

I bought one of these from Amazon, works quite well but too thick to get past the calipers and sometimes catches on the shield behind the disk as well, but generally seems to do the job.

And for inside the wheel arches I just use an old wash mitt and get as far in as I can reach!

Chemical Guys makes some matte finish products—they were all highly rated—-so I made the purchase of the Matte Jet Seal and the Meticulous Matt finishing spray——I have the Phantom Matte Grey A90—these products SUCK!!! Maybe it’s the Toyota Matte finish, but this did nothing but streak up the finish—I had to use half the spray detailer to de streak the finish—-stay away from these products if you have the Phantom Matte!!! I need to find something that works—-

What car shampoo did you use. Many car shampoos contain gloss enhancers which may cause your streaking issues. Make sure to use a car shampoo made for matte finish. I used the Chemical Guy's Meticulous Matte Shampoo with the Chemical Guy's Matte Jet Seal and the Chemical Guy's Meticulous Matte Detailer on my phantom Gray Supra. I have not experienced any streaking issues. My main gripe against the Matte Jet Seal is how long it lasts before you have to reapply. After three washes, it looks like I need to apply another coat.
I used maguires—no wax—wash. After a wash it looks fantastic, but the CG stuff—-ughhhh. We have a huge love bug problem here for 2 weeks twice a year—-gotta have something on the nose of they will destroy your paint. While windex and a microfiber work great for removing them, it also removes the “water phobic” properties—-I was hoping the CG stuff would take care of that—-but the streaking is terrible!! I’m gonna wash it and wash it until the CG stuff is gone!

Your car shampoo is the issue. From Meguiars description: "Meguiar'sÂź Ultimate Waterless Wash and Wax safely lifts away dirt and grime while leaving behind a protective layer of hydrophobic wax. It has a highly effective formula that is made up of natural carnauba wax along with other lubricating agents (e.g. silicon) to give your car a protective shine once you have finished."

From Dr Beasley's website:
Wax and matte paint are mortal enemies for one reason: wax gradually begins to reverse the ‘flat’ effect. Waxes are most commonly known as protection products that yield a shine, mostly because they’re made of carnauba and filling ingredients. In basic speak, traditional waxes fill imperfections to create an even surface. Problem is, matte paint is full of imperfections. In fact, it’s those very imperfections and microscopic dimples that diffuse light rays and make the surface appear non-reflective to the human eye. [Why You Can’t Wax Matte Paint Finishes]
I’m using the maguires gold series shampoo—-no wax—-they specifically recommended THIS product because it contains no wax—was I misinformed?

Sealants will streak bad if you're letting them dry on the surface or applying too much or applying them in the sun. You might think 70 and sunny is a great day to wash your car (it is!) but when you put a sealant on a car in that weather it'll immediately dry and streak. And yeah, spraying it with QD in that case is the best way to get that streaking out, so that's what my guess is - just an application problem.

Do you have experience with sealants prior to using this one? They're quite a bit different than if you've only used an old-fashioned carnauba.

edit: I also found this thread of people having some of the same problems and a potential set of solutions in the end (after some test panels): https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/products-guides/82570-chemical-guys-jet-seal-matte.html

Yeah—I’ve used them before, but not on a Matte finish—-I applied the “thin coat” in a straight lines—inside my closed garage on a 75degree day—-let it sit for 20 minutes (then much less time after I saw the initial streaks) and buffed with the MF cloth—-there was no change in “streaks” between 20 minute wait and almost instant removal—-I was really hoping this stuff would work and look great, but it didn’t, so I need to find a different product—I’m open to suggestions—-

Yeah, that sounds like it should work, but who knows, it might flash at like 71 degrees or something . Too bad about your experience, most of the CG stuff I've used has been fine to good, if a bit overpriced.

I use the CG matte wash and detailed. The issue I had with streaks I have traced back to contaminated microfibers. If they were used for something else, streaks. If they get too dirty, the oils from the contaminates causes streaks.

Use clean and dedicated microfibers. Be prepared to use several. I use one for the first pass wipe and one in the other hand to dry. If they get dirty or saturated, grab new ones.

I washed using these steps:
  1. CG Matte wash with foam cannon,
  2. pressure washed,
  3. another CG Matte wash foam cannon application,
  4. two bucket wash (CG Matte wash) with grit guards,
  5. pressure washed,
  6. dried with leaf blower to remove water,
  7. used micro fiber towels, brand new and used 12, to dry.

Happy with results.
Car was dirty and the first wash.
