So, I actually picked up a black Premium back on August 9th at Colonial Toyota in Milford CT. They got it in that morning, called me, and I drove it home that afternoon.

Does your dealer still not have yours?

Yea, unless they are LE models the Premium and Base models are arriving at port in the east coast on 8/12 and should be in the hands of the dealers ready to be sold a two-three weeks later.

I'm from MA and have my VIN, and my Black Premium arrived at port this past Monday (8/12). My dealer stated they are going to make a note to see if they can expedite delivery of my car as early as they can. So I am expecting to be picking mine up last week of August to first week of September assuming normal delivery times.

Cheers,
-V

Mine arrived and is ready for pickup today. It is currently sitting in the showroom ready for pickup.

I am unfortunately away on business and will be picking it up next Wednesday.

Congrats on the car! Mine is a Black Premium as well. How do you like it? Was not my initial color choice, but it started to grow on me.

Cheers,
-V

Congrats on it arriving!

I'm very happy with the car. Black was always my plan - it's hardest to keep clean, but when it is clean, I feel it looks the best.

If you don't mind me asking, when did you place your order? Trying to gauge when mine may arrive.

Thanks.

I didnā€™t necessarily order it. Just had a deposit in at the dealership waiting for them to get in whatever they had.

But, I did get the VIN and had it secured on July 20th.

I respectfully disagree, but that's only because as you said black is a Bi@tch to keep clean but the car has multiple ground effects even if they are plastic and the contrast is rather nice IMO, and this contrast is lost when the car is all black. It's nice to have a Pop if you will between the ground effects and the rest of the car. This will become especially true if said ground effects are then replaced with carbon fiber pieces down the road/in the near future. Also this is why you won't see TRD advertise their parts on darker cars but instead lighter cars to enhance or polarize that "Pop"

To each his own.

just got a confirmation from my dealership this Thursday morning 8/29 that my car is on freight now and waiting for go ahead delivery to the dealership.

my premium Turbulence grey was one of the car that arrived at Newark NJ port on 8/12 (3rd batch).

For all east coast buyers, if your car comes on 8/12 at the Newark port, it should be coming soon.

If you have any concerns of whereabouts your car now, you can contact @darkloki

he can help you to track your car.

Iā€™ve always been partial to black vehicles, no matter the make or model. But...this is why they make them in more than one color, so everyone can have what they prefer!

I may be asking a dumb question here but...

Is it actually taking longer than it should for us to get our cars, or does it just seem that way given that some LE's have been on the street for a month, the anticipation and hype of the Supra finally coming back, and just general impatience because we can't wait to have this awesome thing?

It does seems like its been somewhat of a logistical nightmare getting the cars stateside from Austria and then getting hung up at port, and even once the ones that have made it to dealerships don't always have the correct BMW software tools readily available to PDI/ready them up before delivery.

Live in NC and looking to buy a premium in the next 2 months.

Any thoughts? Curious to see if I'm being impatient or unreasonable haha

It depends on the dealers. I would say by 2 months from now, most dealers should have the tools needed to handle the Supra delivery and setup. The question is how many cars are already allocated to your nearby dealers, but not sold.

If you are at all interested, you might start talking to dealers about getting one and seeing what their process is. If there are none available or they're charging a mark-up then it's probably safe to wait awhile. Either way, you can at least register interest and maybe get a spot in line.
